Deal Or No Deal

By Ravenhide, 2008-02-06

OK then, just got a comment from William. Appreciate it very much bro. So here is the deal for every comment I'm going to to wreck my brains and instead of writing songs, Ill be typing out blogs upon every comment.

Well the most interesting, unique and I guess what people would like to hear is maybe leading a soldier's life, a forced soldier's life I might add. Let me tell you guys a bit of history first. In World War II, my country was invaded by Japan. Back then we were a British Colony so we depended on the British Army to help us. Sadly they didn't do a good job and fled. So after the war was over and we gain independence, the national service was implemented which was to sent all boys at 18 years of age born in this country to be trained as soldiers for 2 years which is compulsory.

Now, here I am serving my term. To run away from this is either migrate when I was very young or pay a ridiculous sum of money so I think I might just get this **** done and over with. Just went through basic military training( commonly known as boot camp) and it was ****. Field camp was the most ****. 6 days in a jungle without bathing, eating combat ration( which looks like vomit), shitting in holes we have to dig and proning on places where others might have peed or **** upon. It was hell and barbaric.

I hate to find any positives in boot camp, because I have total disbelief in the system and theory of defending a small country who doesn't have any resources like water or oil. I believe anyone with a formidable airforce could carpet bomb this place to pieces in a day. Sad to say if there was a war, I would take my family and run away from this place. there is just no good enough reason that my country might survive.

You might think that I hate my country but I don't. i love this place. I don't know why but I just fucking love this place. But sad to say this place I love can never be defended if there were to be a full scale war. And that was brutal honesty.

A Late Introduction

By Ravenhide, 2008-02-06

Ok welcome to my world. I know its kind of late but better late than never so I'm going to actually tell you guys who I am other than what have been said on the site. I'm 21 years of age and currently serving my nation as a soldier ( My country force their males to serve the nation for a minimum 2 years in the army, police or civil defence giving them measly allowance) and I'm not very happy about it.

I was at the School Of Music and Arts which was affiliated with the Berkley School Of music studying songwriting and production techniques. I actually didn't get to the production techniques because halfway the army knock on my door and I had to stop so I was kinda pissed.

Then I got an e-mail from imusicscene and I told myself why not since the only positive thing about being in the army is that I got more inspiration to write songs. So here I am trying to please others by writing pure power/melodic metal music which i think is dying in the metal scene today.

The music influences that you see on the main page is basically whats closest to the music being played. What I listen to is almost a bit of everything. From Abba to Slipknot to Christina Aguilera to Yngwie Malmsteen. Its endless.

So I think thats all that is to be known I guess. I would like to thank all those who have praise or criticize my music on this site. Very Very much appreciate you guys taking your precious time to listen and comment on my tracks( Hope Im not asking too much but ratings would be great as well). Your words really motivate me to do more songs and hopefully better as well. Other than that i would like to share my experience and also techniques on songwriting the next time I happen to feel like blogging again. Cheers.

Lareau Readies Radio For New Single Release Change My World 2.18.8

New York, NY Lareau, the band that is gaining national attention due to its honest cool-mountain-stream aesthetic combining an Eagles/Byrds roots-reverence with a Fray/Maroon 5 modernity, is readying for their latest radio release Change My World impacting radio on February 18th, 2008.

Lareau completed the recording Change My World with producers Darrin Payne and Anthony Brown at All Sound Studios in Warren, PA. Reid Shippen a 3X Grammy Winner was brought in to do the final mix on the cut. Mixes were conducted at Soundstage Studios in Nashville where Shippen has worked with such notables as Jonny Lang, India Arie, Backstreet Boys, and Third Day to name a few. His latest Grammy was presented for Jonny Lang’s Turn Around Album.

Lareau’s Changes debut Warrior/UMGD has charted on three major Adult Contemporary charts: FMQB #10, Billboard #25 and R&R #25. Chuck Taylor, reviewing for Billboard, wrote of the albums organic play off of electric and acoustic guitars, bongos and buoyant sing-along hooks, referring to lead singer Larry Lareau as a frontman definitely stamped with nostalgic influences. The review ended with the fact that it’s a pleasure to see hard-working talent rise to the surface.

Lareau—founding member and lead vocalist Larry Lareau, drummer/multi-instrumentalist Darrin Payne, guitarist Pete Gool, bassist Roger Christopherson and keyboardist Anthony Brown—is the five-piece band from Western New York and Pennsylvania whose music is a refreshing and uplifting acoustic/electric trip that has had record buyers swooning to its intricate musical interplay.

The glow of the morning after...

By Grumpy Old Player, 2008-02-04

Let me start by offering up a HUGE THANK YOU to RS Cain for featuring my CD last night on his Nexus show, and another HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who tuned in to listen to it... Okay, maybe my CD wasn't why you were there, but you were gracious enough to listen to it, and say some very kind things. Thanks for that.

To the people who have expressed interest in getting a copy of the CD - Thanks for that too. It's on its way! It may be a couple of weeks before it gets there, but you can bet real money that it will get to you.

That's pretty much all I had today. Thanks for listening. Thanks for commenting. Thanks for last night...

HUNGER!

By Ab1, 2008-02-04
HUNGER!

hey thanks guys for all the kind reviews.. I'm overwhelmed by your openess to my caotic mess.. I know it takes a couple of listens to adjust.. but it was all or bust.. you catch my drift i trust.. the lyrics are few but it would be good to make them clearly understood.. i just couldn't rap that fast.. lol.. so here they are:

we got plenty.. they haven't got any..
we've got to share.. or don't we care?

HUNGER! every 30 seconds a child dies of hunger!
STARVING! 27,000 children perish everyday!
HUNGER! every 30 seconds a child dies of starvation!

so thanks for listening.. most likely a remix or 2 to follow.. so much there to juggle.. but art is a struggle.. peace..
