Hi, Hope the New Year has gotten off to a good start for you. The 1st week was great, but the 2nd sucked. I`ve been in bed all week with a virus. Anyway, between sleeping, posting on Facebook, and watching films, I did a search on You Tube, and found a better video of me with the Michael Jackson Immortal Touring Band. The MJ Immortal Touring Band will be with the Cirque du Soleil show in Russia for the next 2 weeks, and Mike Phillips posted on Facebook that he plans to do a special jam night over there. I commented on his post asking if Ramani (bass player/friend I organized that´s in the video) and I should fly over and join them, and this is what he said:

Mike PhillipsDicarlo Omm I dare you to come over from Berlin and get some.... I will be back in Berlin in the summer time... I can't wait to play with you again..

Anyway, I plan to do a lot of new projects this year, so stay tuned.
But first I have to get rid of this damn virus.

Hi, Just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and give you an update on The Michael Jackson Immortal Band Gig/Jam Session I did last Monday December 17th. I got a call last Friday asking if I could play with the MJ band, because Jonathan "Sugarfoot" Moffett, wouldn´t be able to make it, and if I could also find a good bass player to sub for their regular bass player. After about 20+ emails back and forth with Mike Phillips, (sax with the MJ Immortal Band) we put the program together. The bass player and I basically only had one day to learn the music, and then had a rehearsal/sound check on the day of the gig. All I can say is, it was absolutely amazing. I played a 1 1/2 hour set with the MJ band, and then Jonathan "Sugarfoot" Moffet showed up to finish the remainder of the set. It was so much fun to play with these legends. There was a video stream on the club´s website, and I had lots of friends tell me they saw it in the USA, and Canada.

The Ultimate Immortal Christmas Jam Session

The Ultimate Christmas Jam Session at QUASIMODO Berlin On Monday, 17th at 10pm "The Ultimate Christmas Jam Session” happened. Artist Mike Phillips who has recorded with Stevie Wonder, Prince and The King of Pop Michael Jackson and long time music director for Michael Jackson Greg Phillinganes played some of our favorite Christmas jams but with a twist of jazz, funk, soul and rock. Before the musicians hit the stage for the “Immortal World Tour” they took the time to have a Jam session at QUASIMODO Berlin, where some of Berlin´s best musicians, artist´s and music lovers celebrated the holidays with some of the most talented musicians in the world. Musicians like, guitarist Jon Myron Clark, vocalist Fred White and Jonathan SugarFoot Moffett who all at one point in their careers shared the stage with the King of Pop Michael Jackson.

Hi Everyone,

Once again, you don´t have to vote for this, if you don´t want to, but at least have a listen, because I think you will REALLY like it. It´s a remix of a previously unreleased take of "Move Over" from Janis´s Pearl album. I slowed the vocals down, and you can really hear the despair in her voice, and really get the meaning of the lyrics. It´s a sad song, but you don´t get that feeling from the original. The original is almost too happy sounding. Anyway, please have a listen. And read the description to understand the concept, and all the work I put into this remix.

I just got back from the Frankfurt Musik Messe in Frankfurt, and it was great. Personally, it was a big success, and a lot of fun. I was invited to dinner by Zildjian, (one of my endorsers) and have 2 pending endorsement deals, one with DW drums, and one with Pearl drums. I love both, so I´ll be happy to endorse either one. I played on both the DW, and Pearl stands for 1000´s of people. I also met, and partied with my friend TM Stevens, who was there playing on the Warwick stage. I also met John JR Robinson at the hotel bar, and watched him perform on the last day with Leland Sklar on bass, and two older, but hot guitarists. I saw some killer guitar players playing for Hughes & Kettner. Amazing. But Warwick had the best and Funkiest stage ever with people like Bootsy Collins, Larry Graham, TM Stevens, Norwood Fisher, Jonas Hellborg, Leland Sklar, Devinity, and a bunch of others. They were also joined on stage by Dewayne McKnight, the guitarist from George Clinton. It was great. I´ll post some photos. The videos I did with my digital camera look good, but sound like crap. But for all you bass players, checkout this 2 Part video. It´s great. Oh, I looked for Stratage Guitars, but couldn´t find them, or I would have stopped by and said hello. It was impossible to see everything, and do business deals. It was just too BIG. Had a lotta fun though.

CHANGING TIMES-9-11 TRIBUTE;

I wrote this song on September 14, 2001, three days after the 9-11 attacks, and dedicate it to all the people that lost their lives that day, and also for heros (fire fighters, and rescue workers, etc.) that have either died, or become ill with respiratory diseases caused by 9-11. I wrote this song with the feeling of loss and sorrow, but also with the hope of a better, and brighter day. Unfortunately, that day hasn´t come. I´m currently in a contest called “Conspiracy For Good”. The 9-11 attacks are one of the biggest “Conspiracies For Evil”, rivalling the JFK assasination, (murder) of which we will never be told the truth. Unless you still want to believe the story of “Lee Harvey Oswald and The Magic Bullet”. Lol I´ve watched all the 9-11 news footage, read the commission report, and watched all the conspiracy theory videos too. All I can say, is maybe 50% of what our government has told us is the truth.

The obvious truths about 9-11 are; A plane never hit hit the Pentagon. Whatever it was, it wasn´t a plane. If it was, and it disintegrated like they claim it did, it would have caused the same explosions as the planes that hit the towers, and taken out half the Pentagon, because it had the same amount of fuel. Strange that if you look closely at the photos, and videos of the Pentagon destruction, you will see a cabinet, and a wooden chair with a book sitting on it (directly where the wall had been destroyed) and nothing was damaged, or burned.

Also no footage from the 100´s of cameras in and around the Pentagon to show an actual plane hit it. That´s very strange. Eye witness News reporters reporting they saw a white plane with a blue symbol with no windows hit the WTC brodcasted on the news, but only one time. The videos that show clearly a flash from each of the planes right before impact, and that something was clearly attached to the bottom of the planes. The fact that many people, (including the fire fighters) heard explosions going off in the basement, and all throughout the buildings, like a demolition. The fact that experts say it is the first time in history that a steel structured building has colapsed from fire. Not one, not two, but three steel structured buildings collapsed from fires exactly the same way, at the same location, within minutes from each other. I´m sorry, but something is very strange about all of this. We´ve been lied to an aweful lot. Like the search for Bin Laden, (who was never found) which caused the war in Afganistan, and the search for Weapons of Mass Destruction that didn´t exist in Iraq, that got us into a 2nd war that is still going on. Things certainly haven´t gotten any better. We have less and less freedom, and we are told it´s for our own good. I could go on, and on.

I´m sure most of you have seen all the videos on You Tube. If you haven´t watched them, please do, and if you have, go back and review them again. I spent about 3 hours doing that last night, and found out things I missed the first time.

They´re not talking about conspiracy theories, they´re not saying the U.S. Government is responsible, they´re just stating the cold facts. They firmly believe the buildings were brought down by explosives, and are asking the commission to review it, but the commision never did, and refuses to do so.

Also, of the 9,000+ rescue workers, 69% now have respiratory diseases, and the government has turned it´s back on them. They were told that the air was safe, and they didn´t need to wear protection masks. Very sad story, and this touches me deeply, because one of the 300+ reviews I received on my song “Changing Times-9-11 Tribute” was written by the son of a fire fighter that died on September 11, 2001.

Let us take a moment of silence to remember all those who lost their lives on, or from the aftermath of the 9-11 attacks.

Just wanted to thank those of you who voted for me in the past two contests.

In the Scott Pilgrim vs The World Fight Score contest I finished at #25 from over 368 submissions. The judges will pick, and annouce the winners in the next 9 days. So I could win 1st prize; $6,000 in band equipment; a Scott Pilgrim Special Edition Strat, a normal Strat, a Fender P Bass, a Fender guitar amp, an SWR bass amp, and a Gretsch Drum kit. with Sabian cymbals. 2nd prize; Scott Pilgrim Special Edition Strat, and a Fender amp. 3rd prize; a normal Stratt, and Fender amp.

In the Conspiracy For Good contest which I submitted 5 Original songs; Don´t Stop finished at #13, Changing Times-9-11 Tribute at #25, Love Is The Key at #27, All Systems Down at #29, and Ethnology finished at #41, out of 353 submissions. Again the judges, of which Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) is one, will annouce the 5 winners on Oct 1st. I could win $1000, or more, if they pick more than one of my songs. So wish me luck.

The Peter Gabriel song is "Games Without Frontiers" from 1980, but I produced it like Phil Collins, or Daniel Lanois on Gabriel´s "SO" album in 1986, 6 years later. It has that BIG production of Sledge Hammer, Big Time on the "SO" album, and on many of Phil Collins big hits. It sounds like real musicians playing in the studio, which is what I thought Peter would prefer.
You don´t have to register with the site to vote, you only have to confirm your email. This is to prevent cheating.
Anyway, check it out, it has the original vocals from Peter, and Kate Bush, as well as the original guitar and bass. Everything else, including the live drums is me.

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day.
I just completed a remix of Peter Gabriel´s "Games Without Frontiers" for an upcoming contest in July. The song is about war, with refernces to a TV game show in the UK, Adolf Hitler, England and Russia, etc. I created a whole new massive production out of the original minimalistic version. I call it my War Epic Remix. Maybe my Epic Anti War Remix, I´m not sure, but I find it strange that I just finished it today on Memorial Day. I won´t be uploading in the contest until shortly before the contest starts on July 1st. But I´ll be back to remind you, because I think you will really enjoy my production of Peter Gabriel´s classic. Fact is, I never heard "Games Without Frontiers" until this contest. I had heard his work with Genesis, and I absolutely loved the "SO" album with songs like "Sledge Hammer" and "Big Time". My new production of Peter´s song sounds a lot in the direction of these two songs. Huge production with orchestra, lots of programmed drums, synths, sequencers, and I even played real drums on it. It´s a bit like if Phil Collins produced the song for Peter Gabriel. Anyway, I´ll let you know when it´s uploaded in the remix contest. Maybe I´ll call it my Memorial Day Remix? A big thanks to those of you that voted for my Snoop Dogg remix. I came in at #55 out of over 1500 remixes. The judges (Snoop Dogg, Skull Candy, and Mantis) will decide the winner, runner ups, and honorable mentions on June 21st. So maybe they´ll pick mine, who knows.
