Michelangelo said, "I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free." Not to equate my level of artistry anywhere near to his, but this is very much like what songwriting is like for me. It is like entertaining an idea, an angel, and allowing it to reveal itself to me... allowing it to take it's own shape as I discover what is there. The process is the most organic in my solo work, because I can follow the idea from beginning to end.
I have also been honored with many collaborations with some exceptional artists and find the challenge of discovering the "angel within the marble" very different in each and every one of these instances, and rewarding in an entirely different way. I wish to thank each of my collab partners, who have contributed much to my growth as a musician and artist.
I realize my music is not everyone's cup of tea. ;) But, there is a wide, diverse range of styles represented here. I hope you find something that you like, or that speaks to you in some way in the words, music, ideas, or spirit. Thanks for stopping by.

I just uploaded a song called "Chiaroscuro". This is a song I wrote a few months ago and recorded with just my voice and acoustic guitar. Phillip Hartley took that existing mp3 and added orchestration, and I am amazed at the result! It is like a different song! Come listen if you get a chance!

<3 jasmine-t
