A long time involved in the music business and I remain active to this day. Fortunately I can play and perform a bit but unfortunately a composer, song writer, lyrisist I am not. I'm OK at the A&R thing so I just admire and marvel over those of you gifted with he ability to write the stuff. Music has been good to me and I have kept in perspective as the years have past and the opportunities for the younger and more gifted are no longer within my grasp. I do a lot of fun work with a World Class group of musicians and vocalists that tolerate my playing abilities. For the past 15 years I have developed playing techniques to accomadate the use of guitar synth's {It's not so easy playing horns and strings and things when you think like a guitar player}. Keep in mind the recordings are all live with mistakes and flubbs included. We do not use sequencers every thing you hear is played by a person in real time. Although we do the copy things we make every tune we do our own from an A&R point of view. I don't have enough or adequate words for the encouragement to all of you out there that make your own music so please allow me to just tip my hat in appreciation.

Spent a few hours roaming this site. I find it a bit disturbing that the reviews are sometimes less than honest. Granted there are many good, excellent, and great artists as well as material to be found, however all the glowiung reviews on the mediocre and just plain awful stuff is a bit hard to swallow.

The Music business is a cruel and cold business and I very much appreciate all the positive support you all give each other. (As it should be) but in my minds eye appropriately worded constructive criticism would provide a platform to broaden the artist's horizons and development if in fact it was intended only as a suggestion or reccomendation for improvement.

I have been a performing artist for more years than I care to mention and I will offer this. I learned more and improved as a player when I payed attention to the less than glowing reviews I received.

Aa a reviewer with no known credentials never give a bad review to berate or demean a fellow artist but rather suggest things that might stimulate the artist to explore alternatives. A critical review is not a bad review but it should be an honest one.

Just my thoughts for all you aspiring artists. Keep up the good work I have listened to a bunch of excellent material and talents across so may genre's.
