Thanks for visiting my page, hope you like the tunes. I'll be adding more as time allows. Everybody here are such great artists that I'm afraid my music is not as produced as most. I Play all the insturments and do all the vocals on my songs.I use a tascam 8 track DP-01fx and a WK-300 casio keyboard (I know) I have several acoustic guitars including a Martin and Fender.I also use my Tele, and P-bass on most songs.

Living in California, and the single father of three children, I started playing music back in the 70's while I lived in Bakersfield. My neighbor came from a long line of musicians that played with some of Bakersfield's most noted musicians. His father also built guitars for Mosrite and worked as a crew member on Heha. Soon as I learned a few cords, the guy had me playing in some of Bakersfield's seediest bars. I moved to Bishop in the 1980's and started playing bass in a band called The Rattlers, for the next 15 years and we played all over the Eastern side of the Sierras. We played mostly in Mammoth, and Bishop but we also played gigs in Northern Nevada, mostly fairs, casinos and other special events like Mule Days, Jim Butler days . We opened for Chris Le Doux and Michael Martin Murphy at several large venues. The Rattlers played everything from country to top40 rock and roll. I play several instruments from drums to guitars to keys to flute, none of which am I an expert.

When I was about 11-12 years old I had an uncle that lived very close to me. His girlfriend was Sue Veliet, Captain Beefhearts mom. She lived with my uncle alot of the time especially on the weekends. We would go to her house alot also and spend time with granny, Don's grandmother. Sue was a wonderful lady always a smile on her face and I became very close to the family . In my teens she would tell me story's about stuff that Don and Frank Zappa would get into. One day when Don was home (he wasn't home much) but he played me a tape of songs from the Safe as Milk album without the vocals . He was working on that album at that time. He and John French gave me a stack of bumper stickers that came with the album and had a picture of a little baby face on them and said "Safe as milk" I stuck about a hundred of the all over the school bus and the junior high school. As I got older Sue became like a mom to me and my uncle a father. I worked at the shoe store he owned in lancaster Ca.. Sue was invited to Frank zappa's house to view his movie and invited me but my uncle wouldn't let me off work he just didn't get it. He knew them both also and thought of them as a couple mixed up kids lolo.Sue brought me a note from Frank that said hi rick sorry I missed you and signed F.zappa. Oh well that's about enough for now I'll ad more later.
