New gig lined up for The Righteous Blues Band - @the-righteous-blues-band

Well it's looking like we'll be playing at the benefit for Life Unlimited Food Ministry on Oct 4 at Eagle Mountain Int'l Church in Newark, TX. There will be a motorcycle run for the purpose of collecting food and toys for the Life Unlimited Food Ministry in Ft Worth,TX. The plan is to have food and live music from around Noon until about 2pm.

We're still working out some minor details, but we are very much looking forward to playing at this benefit. I'll pass info along as things get finalized.

This Saturday evening the Righteous Blues Band will be the Center Stage artist on the Saturday Night Rocks Show. Mike will be playing 5 songs from my upcoming CD which will be finished later this year. I'm looking forward to listening to the show and talking to some friends in the chatroom...

Tomorrow is the day!!!! Two of my songs will be on WWOZ radio tomorrow afternoon!

I'm sending the two song files to the DJ tonight and he said that he will play them on his show tomorrow afternoon.

The radio show is from 2:00-4:00 PM every Wednesday and is called "Blues and R&B: Sittin' at the Crossroads with Big D". You can listen to the show live on the website.

On the WWOZ home page you can see a player that will allow you to listen to the live broadcasts.

Hopefully some of you will be able to check out the show online thru the website. They do not archive the broadcasts yet, so there's no way to listen to the show later if you don't catch it live. I have checked out the playlist of some of his previous shows and he plays some big name blues artists, so my songs could be in very good company on the show. I don't know if this could be a big push for my music or not...all I know is that a door has been opened for me and I'm walking thru it.

I'll be taking tomorrow afternoon off from work to be home and listen to the whole show and may even call in to thank the DJ after my songs are played. Who knows...maybe he'll put me on the air?

I am still very humbled and honored to have the opportunity for my music to reach a whole new audience. I just hope that people will like the songs. Who knows what can or will happen after the songs are on the air?

It looks like two of my songs are going to be on WWOZ radio in New Orleans very soon, possibly this Wednesday. A person who is a fan of my music page on Facebook turns out to be a DJ on the radio station and wants to play a couple of my songs on his show. The show is on Wednesdays from 2:00-4:00 in the afternoon. They don't archive their broadcasts, so I'll have to do my best to listen to the whole thing from work which will be tough, but I'm sure going to try.

More details coming as soon as I get them. This could be a VERY cool thing...

New jam up using my new computer... - @the-righteous-blues-band

I got me a new laptop over the weekend for recording and man is it fast compared to my old computer.

Anyways...I did this quick one-take jam along with a backing track to test everything out. The jam is nothing special with lots of mistakes and such, but it was fun to do. I used the neck pickup on my SC90S into my V-Amp Pro and into the computer for recording. The new computer mixed and exported everything so fast compared to my old system I was completely amazed...

The song is called "New computer test" if anyone wants to check it out...

Well, both my songs were played on WWOZ yesterday during the "Sittin' At The Crossroads" show hosted by Big D. It went great. He played one song during each hour of his show. I called him during the second song and thanked him for giving me this opportunity. He was a very nice and gracious man who I look forward to talking to again someday. He did mention that I called on air after the song was done, and also mentioned that he would probably be playing those songs again in the coming weeks. All in all it was an awesome experience and I'm very happy about it.

If anyone was able to hear the songs you can e-mail the station and leave them feedback to tell them what you thought about my song or any other song that was played.

Big thanks to anyone who was able to listen and took the time to check it out. Please let me know what you thought of the songs if you did listen to them.

I've updated my song "Time's Up" to now include the bass track and my first take at the vocal track. I'm still dealling with the sinus junk that's affecting my ears and voice, so it's definitely NOT a final take on the vocals. I'm also going to add in some harmony vocals on parts of the chorus for the final mix, but I'm not going to work on any of that until I'm completely over this sinus infection.

Anyways...it's out there, so you can let me know what you think. Hope everyone has a blessed week!

I put a demo fo the new song I'm working on up on my page. The song is called "Time's Up". The song doesn't have the bass or vocals tracks on it yet, but you'll definitely get a feel for how the song will sound with the drums, rhythm and lead guitar. I had to work hard to get some of my slide guitar chops back since I really haven't played slide in a couple of years. I hope everyone likes what they hear so far, and please send me some feedback on what you think of it.

I have changed my Artist name from "T-Bone-BBQ" to "Righteous Blues Band". I'm still a one-man band, but I hope that will change in the future.

I should have the vocals on my latest song "Time's Up" this evening and will hopefully get the final mixed down version of it up later on the artist page tonight or sometime tomorrow. Then it's on to starting the next song...not sure which one I'll start working on yet.

I've finished the recording (I think) on the first two songs for my CD. I should be able to start working on the third song this week.

So far I've been getting good reviews and feedback from those I've asked to help me with getting good mixes on the songs. I'll keep updates going as I progress. So far it's been lots of fun.

I recently got some equipment to make me a little home studio. This jam from a backing track was me just goofing around using my V-Amp Pro along with my Les Paul getting areally thick, nasty lead tone and having some fun with it.

I've put another clip up of me playing my SC90 on two solos from the bash. I only put the solos up so as not to infringe on the "no covers" rule. It's called "SC90 Solos".

I used the C22B bridge pickup on my SC90 with no added boost or OD straight into the lead channel on my BelAir. I just rolled the guitar volume back for rhythm playing and turned it all the way up for the solos.

Christmas song submission - @the-righteous-blues-band

I've added my Christmas song to the site now.

I recorded this song in December of 2003. I used my Bolt into my V-Amp Pro for the leads and used my '62 Jazzmaster for the rhythm parts.

The song basically expresses my frustrations of how some people act during this time of year. They concentrate on things that are more important than concentrating on the reason we celebrate Christmas...

I put another blues jam up on the site called "Blues Jam In E - 2007 Texas Bash" that you can check out. It's a long jam that starts with Peb playing solo (I was outside when he started), then I join in with my SC90 and my BelAir. I get a really warm, fat tone from the SC90 for this song that I really liked...I hope some of you will also...

I've put the complete jam on the site now from the bash. I used my SC90 and started out with the lead channel of the BelAir, added some wah later, then switched to the clean channel and kicked on my London Fuzz II for some heavier blues.

I've uploaded a short clip from this year's bash that has me playing my SC90 into my BelAir on a solo. Sorry for the audio quality, but it comes from the digital camcorder we used to video the stuff.

I posted a new jam today called "Goofin' Around". I had this Santana-esque jam track that sounded cool, so I thought I'd just record some playing over it. I did this as a one-take jam along with a backing track at lunch. I used my SC90 and the C22N with my Pocket Rock-It headphone amp into the computer. Lots of sloppy playing and some screw-ups, but it was fun so I'm posting it. I even tried doing some basic tapping licks in there...LOL!!!

Finally had a chance to try and get my site up and put some songs on it. I hope that those who stop by will take a listen to my songs and give me some feedback on them. Most of them are demos of Christian Blues songs that I've written, or are outtakes from some of the Texas Bashes we've had.
