Another great piece of Rock. Love the driving bass lines. Vocal is bang on the sweet spot. Great lead solo and superb tone on the guitar. I'm a sucker for keys and they are excellent here. Seriously great project guys!! Ian

Hey....some new RV!! I'm out of touch. You guys just plain out rock. There's certain things RV does that keeps reminding me of Deep Purple without sounding like DP. Take it as compliment please. Such solid work by all. Gary's rhythm and leads are spot on, Farrell nailed it, DrC's synth lead just what it needs to be, and Rob rounds this out so fantastically...always love his bass playing and lines. Kudos on a great song. ....B

Steve Gilmore has his own song review page called Rebel Riffs. He reviews 30 plus songs each month. Some are submissions and some he selects but all are from OMD's and Indie Artists. Here's Steve's review for our song Who's The Winner. Thanks Steve for a highly recommended rating!

OK me old chums, better brace yourselves... The song comments for Who's The Winner proudly (nay brazenly!!) proclaim that the track is a 'prog rock song with some great performances' Riiiighhht. I'll tell ya, in any normal circumstance, you could probably hear me screaming where you live, even though it may be on the other side of the world. Prog-rock, it has to be said, has been the bane of my musical life and I am never happy when faced with it. Now, if you are thinking you've seen the name Rayon Vert before, you have. I reviewed Rayon Vert Remastered (April 2010) and look, I survived that and so did you. It even got a Highly Recommended and for prog rock that's a real coup. So what's the secret ingedient that keeps the snarling monster of rock at bay?

Two words, Farrell Jackson.

Actually to single out Farrell (who IMHO is one of the better rock musicians around right now) is grossly unfair to the rest of Rayon Vert. Fact is, it's a kind of supergroup of unsigned musicians, if you know what I mean. DrC, Rob Grant and Gary Carciello have all been around a long time and soaked up the lessons internet musicians are forced to learn, so consequently you won't find any blemishes. Therefore it's all down to style and content, and that is where Rayon Vert score big-time. Written as a tribute to Gerry Rafferty who sadly passed away earlier this year, Who's The Winner tells the tale of Gerry's struggles with personal problems and a music business that didn't understand him and lyrically I can't pick a fault.

Hugely, hugely prog-rock though and if I didn't know these musicians and know that none of them have big hair and even bigger egos, I think this is the kind of prog rock I can finally live with. All of the musicians play a blinder although my favourite is Rob Grant's great solid bass playing. The guy works up a nice sweat and I do love to hear a bass played with a bit of finesse. Now while I am well crabby with the whole prog rock thing, I am well aware there are millions of people who really love it - in which case Rayon Vert have nothing whatsoever to worry about because THIS is the real deal. Without the hair and the egos.....damn things DO change, don't they?...

Highly Recommended p-p-p-p-p-rog rock (with some great performances).

I want to personally thank DrC, Gary Carciello, and Rob Grant for inviting me to join in on this Rayon Vert journey! It's been an extraodinary 3 or 4 years now and still going. I'm not sure of the exact years because time flys when you're having fun. The RV songs just keep getting more intricate and challanging, such is the case with Who's The Winner? This requires me to think from a different part of my vocalist brain....thanks for that guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, aren't we getting close to having enough songs for an RV CD #2?

A very ......
Well, you can't sum it up in one word can you?
You have to live the life, dream the dream, and then you'll know.
It really is a superb showcase of musicanship, from songwriting to delivery.
If just now and again we could bend the rules of the game,a song like this would set you on the road to a dream worth dreaming.
Like all musicans throughout time,I follow the audience.
It has lead us to un-numbered gigs in pubs, clubs, and grander venues.
Across the WWW with it's scattering of OMD's,more often than not, just playing to ourselves, equaly lost.

The winner?
The one makes a living FROM us.
We were always beggars at their banquet.

Superb work gentlemen

Oh yeah...just as I expected. This song starts of with fire and passion. This gem is precussive, moving and really displays the raw talent of the Rayon crew. From DrC's great keywork, to Farrells melodic vocals, to Gary's anthemic guitar work and of course the driving rhythm foundation of Rob Grant. Fellas this has a wonderful arena feel, and I can tell you this...my lighter is held high for this one ! - Bill Smith (Bilbozo)

Listening with my son... we've come the consensus that this is a combination of Styx and Muse, with a smattering of Utopia. Interesting meld of talents here, with first-rate production. We like the organ break at 3:30. Remarkable what can be done now when the members are not together. Makes me wonder if I should throw something out for collaborative opportunities. Not much more to comment on other that to say that it is all good...

Rock on! One of the best tracks from RV yet boys! Guitars are solid as hell...outstanding! Love the tones and playing on this...Mixing and production is top shelf! Only thing is...I would elimanate those organ sound personnally, it's not for me! with out the organ sound...this would be such a main stream song and is very catchy! This is only my opinion! It was cool after the solo...but would leave it at that...That guitar track carries this whole song and can't take away from those wicked chops!...WOW Gary that is some of the best rythem track I heard from you yet! your talking my kind of playing...SMOKIN! My god bro...that kicks some serious ass! Farrell...you are such a fantastic vocalist! You give songs the edge it needs! Solid bro!
Great bass guitar ROB! your the man!!

DrC talk about a soild mix...your panning smokes! Very, very well done!

All in all top shelf 5 stars! One of the best track yet! -Minus the organ sound...rather hear more guitar!!
