Beyond the Gate
Verse 1
I am awake, it feels as though I'm floating in air
I'm in the dark, but there's a light ahead of me.
Behind I see a portal, was I on the other side
Trapped between two worlds, thriving or departed
Verse 2
I hear people in the distance, calling out my name
Have I left loved ones behind , are they crying just for me
Are there more behind the lights, waiting to take my hand
Where do I go from here, I'm trying to understand (understand, understand, understand)
Chorus
I can’t turn around, I need to go on
I’ve got this easy go feeling, a curious mind
I must go beyond, past the lights that shine
Confusion in my head, this isn’t my time
Verse 3
Thoughts of how I got here , why don't they bother me
I feel unusually secure and warm, complete in my serenity
We were meant to learn as we go, not a place to stay
I can’t believe its already time to wander beyond the gate
This song has a classic rock overtone... I'm thinking Neil Young. The songs drive, bass, acoustic and vocals were very nicely blended. Good Job!!
Great mix and performance. That acoustic has a fantastic tone. Terrific bass line.
Linda's lyrics fit this great. Congrats on a very nice collab.

Lonnie, It was such an honor to be asked to take part in this song. I think that it turned out beautifully. You and Don do some Amazing work. I have listened to this song so many times that I've lost track..lol .. Anyway, A huge Thank you to the London Project
(LP) Linda
This was a song I heard in DJ Chat tonight and what a great song it is! The music is so great with the bass, the rhythm & extra sounds! And then the lyrics just create the feeling of what it must be like to be near death or even crossing over... 💓 so moving.....
Thank you Tricia... very much appreciated that you took the time to comment and that you actually "got it"....
I can't believe no one has commented on this yet. Super bass playing! Nice tone and playing on the acoustic..not too bright, not too bassy...just right. Hey the lead guitar caught me by surprise...wasn't expecting that but it fits and sounds mighty fine. Good work LP!

Thank you for your kind words Farrell. We have added LP's awesome lyrics and Don has once again taken a basic tune to a new level!
