The June 2004 recording of "IT'LL COME BACK AND HAUNT YOU"
is the first newly recorded music by the all-original hard rock band AVALANCHE! in nearly 20 years. The 1986 song, written by leader-founder Michael Foster, continues in the band's tradition of writing mainstream, but distinctive songs that draw from many influences, but have a sound that is different, yet vaguely familiar at the same time.
Although the absence of close friend and original bass player Charles Calmese (killed in an auto accident in 1988) is immediately apparent to anyone whoever saw or heard AVALANCHE! back in 1979 and 1980, and remembers just how distinctive and talented this Multi-Platinum Record Award-winning musician was (his bass playing can be heard on two of The Steve Miller Bands most successful albums, FLY LIKE AN EAGLE and BOOK OF DREAMS), the essence and core sound of AVALANCHE is alive and well in all the surviving original group members, and in the chemistry that made Avalanche songs so powerful. The synergy between life-long friends Michael Foster and Mark Easton, both accomplished singer-songwriters and guitarists, whose different writing and performing styles compliment, rather than compete with each other, and the seasoned drumming of Barry Easton, Mark's brother, all figure significantly into the equation.
This brand new version (Michael Corsini added a new bass part)... was remixed and remastered in July, 2006...and Michael's great playing clearly adds the missing component...and the finishing touches to this song. Although I have been playing keyboards extensively for many years...in Avalanche I have always had to choose which instrument (guitar or keyboards) is most important to the song...in a "live" performance. This is the first Avalanche track ever that features both prominent keyboard parts...as well as guitar parts played by me. It is therefore, primarily a studio effort, and would be very difficult to "pull off" in concert without additional personnel.
The magic that always existed in this group becomes apparent when one listens to this new song, which was recorded in four takes, and only a few hours after Michael played it for Mark and Barry to hear. for the very first time. The rehearsal was recorded...but this song was never intended to be an actual release...it just sort of worked out that way. (There are many mistakes that were made during the recording process because of that). All things considered...we decided to let this song be heard in this form...even though we know that today, (two years later) we can do a much better version of this track. It is....a musical moment...captured in time...and for us...an important one.
Based on the results of this initial venture, the first time the original group has played together in over 23 years, future recordings are a virtual certainty...but without some major financial backing from sources that have as yet, failed to materialize, the re-emergence of AVALANCHE! as a live performance act remains a question mark.
Tell Mark Easton i said hi! Been a while since i crossed paths with him!
I listen to effect--How does the song effect the listener...Im hearing clarity in production and performance--Performance is what i am after and this is pro across the board! I love the harmonizing leag guitar break--really caught my ear--vocals are really good! Band is tight and know what rock n roll is about! cheers
Really great songwriting.. I hear Perfection!! What more can I say.? You Rock!!!
This is hardrock essence, fusion and delivering. The bassline is neat and memorising (like the main theme of Rocky). The vocal is definitely essential and upfront, like protraying the morale of a super band. I heard quite a few rock bands over the net for the past 5 years and I believe you guys have the most seasoned skills. My blessing to you all there.
With million of love from Singapore.

I really like the music in this one and thought the singing was excellent. Enough change up to keep me interested through the entire song. Great job here bro be proud of this one.
Ah,I know this one from elsewhere.
It is so nice to sit and listen to music.
I hate the trad OMD reviews.
Bores me.
I mean after all,we're all musicans.yes.
But first we were music lovers.
That seems so lost on the OMD.
Everyone wants to talk technique and production.
Well not me.
I'm a music lover first and foremost.
It is such a pleasure to listen to music that feels right.
It just moves relentlesly.
Beautiful vocals
"Now we'll watch as the wheel spins round..."
Ah,that's the hook, just maes you want to sign along to that line.
Solo's that blaze and and make ya smile.
Music as it was, music as it should be.
Thank you for keeping that spirit alive.
If this had come tumbling out of my speakers back in my youth,Im wold no doubt have had a fine collection of avalanche LP's.
Music is magic.
It makes you feel alive.
Yes indeed.
CLASS.
