SCHEDULED FOR REMIX IN AUGUST, 2008
"Road Fever" is a song that Mark Easton came up with long before there ever was an Avalanche band. We had been doing the song for a few years, before Avalanche ever came into being. When Avalanche decided to do the tune, I wrote the middle section...which was all-new...and Mark and I rearranged the older parts of the song for the new group... but the "soaring" guitar and bass runs throughout the song that I had written for Mark's original version were left unchanged. The funny thing is... Michael Corsini and I worked out those parts nearly thirty years ago...and now...Michael is now the "newest" addition to the Avalanche lineup...and is doing a great job of filling the huge shoes of the late, great Charles Calmese...and those "soaring" parts still "work" on this tune. This version is the first time we have ever been able to even get this song recorded. It has been rearranged again... and updated... in order to be "current". This song gives Mark Easton a chance to really "shine"...and showcase his many skills and talents...as well as showing all the strengths of this band, as a unit. Michael Corsini's outstanding bass work...and Barry Easton's seasoned drumming are clearly evident on this track as well.
Mixing this song was a real challenge. This "mix" represents over 400 hours of Studio Mixing time...and was the greatest production challenge I have come up against so far. Bringing all the very subtle parts of this song into "clarity"... including Acoustic guitars being played side by side with Marshall powered guitars and "power" drums and bass...was one of the most difficult jobs I have ever faced in the studio. We are pretty pleased with the end result, and we hope you all enjoy it.

What has the world come to mate eh?
Yeah,I know we've had our "Discussions" elsewhere.
Different reasons for different roads and people.
Well if nothing else,I could draw up a list of bands that could have'should have owed you at least a debt of gratitude for mapping out the road ahead,as was then.
I remember one hot summers day in England.
We were all packed into the front of a transit van, heading down the motorway to another gig.
Been at work all day, jumped in the van and off we went.
Several hours later we arrive, set up and absorb the atmosphere.
We were due on midnight.
We played a real bummer that night.
I ended up mowing down a wise ass witha 4X12 down the end of along corridor
Yep,it was one of those gigs.
We got hom just as the sun was rising.
But man oh man,it was what we lived for.
You could never explain it to anyone who hadn't lived it.
See how you guys make me ramble?
It's in every note.
Damn,I so enjoyed that.
Sigh...
