'78...
Yep was then forming bands and rehearsing until my fingers bled LOL.
It's difficult with the distance time sometimes puts in the way to see this in context of WHEN it was written.
I think it's pretty crucial that we do.
Seen in it's right time, you see it for the real trendsetting music it was.
So many bands later went onto global fame making music like this, and I have to be honest and say, they, for the majority of cases, did it worse.
Because they were only FOLLOWING trends, writing to fashion's drives, and not just writing what was within.
Important difference IMHO.
I think you guys were probably like us,so busy writing and playing what came out,and blissfuly unaware of what was "Fashionable"
You pleyed what came out.
Sometimes it seems a staggering crime has been committed in not gaining proper recognition for what you did/do.
But if you have a brain and give it some thought after reading the song's history,it's all there.
By the way,it's all given that it's top notch,BUT...
That change for the end section and the lead...
Hair up on the back of the neck.
Ye gods, how I do miss that feeling.
Thank you for reminding me
Awesome.

Mike this is such a wonderful track. Sounds fresh as a daisy and the quality of the production is really top notch. Great crunching guitar work and really strong vocals. Liked the change of pace in the middle 8 section. But the whole package is just wonderful. Love the change of mood with the acoustic coming in strong after the first guitar section and what follows would have fitted perfectly on Derek and the Dominoes Layla and Other Love Songs. Lovely playing.
Cheers

Hey Rob...
Great to hear from you!~ I'm so glad to see that you're bouncing back from what must have been a nightmarish ordeal.
You were one of the first guys to buy our CD at SC...and both of these tracks you just reviewed are over 28 years old now...recorded when we were a lot younger on analog 2 inch tape...with the four full Marshall 100 watt stacks. These are two of my personal favorites...as far as our old material goes...so thanks for the post...it's nice to know that other folks still like 'em too.
Hugs...Mike (NAV)
First thought was "Rock and Roll Animal", but I Loved the twist you put on the progression......and you have a lot of nice sutrprises in there......very cool. As always, I love your guitar playing, that ending lead stung me baby!!! (LOVED THAT TONE) The vocals were GREAT!!! The production is crisp and punchy.
