Song Lyrics
Dekle je po vodo Å¡lo
na visoke planine.
Dekle je po vodo Å¡lo
na visoke planine.
Vodo je zajemalo,
je ribico zajelo.
Vodo je zajemalo,
je ribico zajelo....
Dekle je po vodo Å¡lo
na visoke planine.
Dekle je po vodo Å¡lo
na visoke planine.
Vodo je zajemalo,
je ribico zajelo.
Vodo je zajemalo,
je ribico zajelo.
Ribica jo je prosila:
»Oj, pusti me živeti.«
Ribica jo je prosila:
»Oj, pusti me živeti.«
Dekle je blo usmiljeno,
je ribico spustilo.
Dekle je blo usmiljeno,
je ribico spustilo.
Ribica je zaplavala,
je dekle poškropila.
Ribica je zaplavala,
je dekle poškropila

About the song:
Dunmore Lassies
At first it starts with a slow version of the Irish traditional song called Dunmore Lassies. As you listen it in a minor scale, some short major scale adds on a fiddle come in just to open it up a little bit. You will also hear serbian traditonal drum called "tapan" joining the party and backing vocals doing the same as the fiddle at the end of this first part.
Dekle je po vodo slo
After the first part, the song turns into Slovenian traditional song, which is played and singed (in Slovene) in an old Slovenian style. After that it turns into Scottish mood (as a march) for a short period of time but quickly turns back into Slovenian style. When this second part ends all the instruments start to play the same song in a minor scale that gives it some russian mood but as it go faster it makes you feel like you’re listening a Hungarian traditional music or something similar.
So the point of the song is to represent different european cultures and music styles.
Hope you’ll like it.

Music in this style is timeless and cross cultural. the moods and impressions conveyed are all sublime. Having read some of the impressions on this track. I can add nothing extra. other than to say it was a real pleasure

Fabulous violins, folky and still very celtic feel. The second half (vocal part) has a strong traditional folk music feel. It's quite a lengthy piece though, seems you have merged two songs together. Great work.

beautiful piece. violin sounds exceptional! this has a gypsy kind of vibe to me. I keep picturing a slow dance with a young couple. Love the imagery this song projects. nice change around the 4 minute mark as well.

Uplifting songs, sing-along ballads, bawdy tales and a bit of the brew are trademarks of Beer Belly, a six-piece band from Slovenia. The aim of the group is to present the sound of Irish reels and jigs, Scottish bagpipes and traditional Celtic music through live performances and to surprise with arrangements of more famous irish bands as well as with the music of their own Members of the band come from a wide and varied assortment of musical backgrounds including folk, classical, rock and jazz styles. This rich history, plus their passion for this difficult but enjoyable musical style sets them apart from many of the groups in their country. Other particularities of the band are also the accordion which plays bagpipe lines and the great kilt, which they wear at open-air festivals. Band members: Uros Kavcic - guitar, banjo, mandolin, bouzouki, darabuka, lead vocals Miha Pinteric - accordion, backing vocals Spela Jansa - fiddle, piano, tamburin, backing vocals Jure Rozman - banjo, guitar, backing vocals Saso Krzisnik - mandolin, banjo, guitar Adrijan Novak - contrabass, afterparty accordion, backing vocals
