One Armed Bilbozo - Bummer

Well.. It's curtains for me. I took a nasty spill on some ice over the weekend going down my steep driveway and ripped all the ligaments in my shoulder. Doc says I am out of commission with the guitar for at least a month maybe even two. For me that's too long. I just wanted to hear if anyone has any suggestions on how I can keep producing music. I can kind of play keys a bit and run software but the guitar is out of the question. I tried it today and I was screaming in pain.

I just feel pretty empty without my main instrument. But I know it's best not to try and push it, proper healing takes time. Two months seems to come as a shock. Who knows, maybe you may hear me make some Dubstep, Trance or Dance in FL Studio or something like that. LOL.

OR perhaps I can do something like this guys does...incredible ! <a href="Human Guitar style="font-size: medium;">I really want to continue so any advice would be awesome. Thanks guys - Bilbozo ( Now known temporarily as "Lefty)

Dubstep, Trance or Dance in FL Studio or something like that. LOL.

Hope you get better soon.

Hey Bill........Very MUCH a drag!!! I'm sorry to hear of your accident. One thing I can tell you......STAY POSITIVE, time will FLY and you'll be back in action before you know it. I've been there, as it was 3 years ago, today, that I had my brain aneurysm......and I was away from playing for 3 - 4 months. Hopefully you can use the time to keep writing your great music.......then add your guitar when ready. BEST OF LUCK!!! AND!!! If there's anything I can do to keep you in music, let me know.
Rob
Brother....Bill dang'.. !! I'm thinking, 2 months will hopefully, fly by. 4-5 yrs ago I broke my right wrist.....was going crazy.....My left hand has always been sad...LOL ! I spent my time...working with and arranging samples....I know....! It opened up some new horizons....experimenting with different sound combinations....crazy arrangements and the such..!
"Double Impact"..BTW,,, thx ..for the words on FB...:)that track was all done with samples......It kept my mind in music and the creation of...! Just expanded my thoughts about creating music...! Just my 2 cents...!I know you'll come back stronger than ever no matter what you do....All the best,
Larry
Here is response for that video you linked there Bill...
amazing guitar player
That guy don't need arms at all for play guitar...
Note:
I posted this link just for fun and to cheer you up
Best regards
@ farrell. Bill the main thing is to heal that shoulder. if you try to do anything with it or use your arm you may harm it some more. It's terrible not being able to play but when your 100% healed you'll have so many ideas it will pour out of your guitar.
Man Down! When one Bill hurts, so does the other. So sorry to hear about your shoulder. I will try and keep you busy though with our next collab. Do some minor prelim work on it. You are a trooper and super talented. This will be a long month, but we all here on Mixpo will get you through it. Stay strong, Brother Bill! We love ya!
Bill,
I am sorry to hear about your fall. A few years back, I tore my bicep, and couldn't pick up a guitar for almost 8 months so I know how you feel. Heal soon bro...the time will pass faster than you think!
Wow Bill, when you mentioned this in the chat the other night I had no idea your injury was this bad! That is a bummer.....I injured my left shoulder (rotator cuff) a few years back and I had to minimize my time on the guitar as well. I was gigging regularly on the weekends but stopped all guitar playing at band rehearsals and just sang my parts. For the scheduled gigs (the show must go on) I had to switch from my LP to a Tele because the 12 pounds of the LP just killed my injured shoulder. I also brought along a stool so I could sit and rest the guitar on my leg. It was during that time that I took up the harmonica. So try some new instruments, like harmonica, but you already play keys so just focus on those and you'll keep your musical mind occupied and in the game. My shoulder still bothers me with prolonged guitar playing but nothing that a couple of Naproxen chased with a cold beer can't fix, lol!
Hang in there and have a speedy recover brother.

Sorry to hear that Bill! If you need someone to wine and dine your stratage, let me know!
Bill, that stinks. I am very sorry to hear of your accident. I'll bet you'll have the orchestra program down in two months not to mention other things. Hang in there friend.
BTW Bill, that youtube video of the human guitar is wild!!!!!!!!!! That guy can really mimic an over driven, sustaining lead solo! Now I've got something new to try, LOL!

Bill...
Load up yout software and use VSTI's.
You can sit back in your chair and maybe try a new direction with the virtual instruments.
What you learn may then be incorporated back into your music when recovered.
This beyond just a bummer, Bill !!! Been there, though. I found it productive to get into composing new music on the keyboard. Recorded rough ideas and when I was back to playing again, I would develope the ideas into more solid pieces of music.
It's an unfortunate break for you, but you can spend the "out" still with music, more from a composer point of view.
Hope, all heals well, brother!!!
Cheers,
Mike
Hey Bill, I'm so sorry to hear that you have medical problems with your arm.
I have a suggestion what you can do in mean time until you get well...
Try to sing with Angela, and record it, and later just add your music... Hope that can be helpful
All the best to you and yours and quick recovery...
See you later

Sorry about that Bill, but remember, this is not forever.
Music is the key of life and you own a lot of keys, and like everyone said, try to make some great music and later on put some great guitar solos to it.
I know this gonna sound bad ,but, thank god you did the guitar solo on the up coming collab "The Reunion" before this.
Take care and maybe try to do some vacation to Puerto Rico for 2 month, lol! you know you have a home right here hermano.
