On the shelf for way too long this is the first progressive song I ever wrote. Dusted it off a little. Problem is it's a 9 minute instrumental and that's just way too long for a tune without vocals. Listen only if you're okay with long instrumentals. If so, this tune may be a sort of introspective journey -- the quest of the making and remaking of oneself -- hopefully into someone you can live with for the rest of your life.
It's been frustrating thinking that this ever was complete. In limbo, I'm not at all sure what should happen with this supertanker. Several guitarists have played on it including our own Rob Grant!
Lead guitarists (in order of appearance)
Dimaension X
Glenn Liljeblad
Rob Grant
Rhythm guitarists (in order of appearance)
Blake Tobias

Oh man, Blake ... this was niiicce. Very atmospheric, very ambient. The interaction between synths and guitars is nothing short of stunning. The bass line is heavenly. The whole composition and arrangement is top notch, Blake. Wonderful production, crystal clear mix and a marvelous treat for the ear!

Blake you have some very expressive hands man! this tune is so freakin cool with all its little twists and turns. Every voice you use speaks as clear as a bell and sits so very nice in the mix. I hear so many differnt musical styles and yet they meld so well as a seemless garment would be cut from one piece of cloth. The guitar just comes in and lays a huge PHAT layer of tone and power. This is a very well crafted song indeed!!

Hey Blake... this is some epic work, bro! Very nice chord progression. Great synth work. The drums kick butt! The guitars are screaming! Very cool piece of rock!

Excellent blend of instrumentation ....strings,pads...piano.Nice synth work....flowing into the 2nd part !! Beautiful change, fit perfectly IMO,lush backing ..for the guitar work. The direction and build of this creation is exceptional....I wish I could write a song as diverse and as well composed as this....You do outstanding work...Blake.....KUDOS !!

Wow. The intro was kind of dark, but then the song comes in full-throated. Lots of little subtle things going on in here, with some interesting changes. The music really does fit the title so well, like a struggle to get out, then sweet release towards the end, when you're free at last.
Super keyboard work. Loved all the tonal texturing here. Complex as heck -- and you kept it all together.

Oooh,very mellowtron,like that
An orchestral piece...
Very dramatic,progrock opera like....
I am reminded of Yes's glory years....
Beautiful written piece, with a great epic feel to it,and the constantly shifting sound palette is top notch.
This must have been a nightmare to assemble.
Excelltn musicanship,yes indeed!
Greatly enjoyed.
