Bilbozo Is Now In The Mixposure Hall of Fame for October! SOTM from E. Lee Hawkins!!!
By JimsAE, 2026-10-02
Yeah, it's high time Bill Smith (Bilbozo) was inducted into the Hall of Fame. He's one helluva great musician and a consistent supporter of Mixposure.com.
"I started playing guitar when I was 16 with a love for world music, latin and rock. I try to do something in almost every genre to be as rounded a player as I can ! I have been playing in various local bands for about 15 years. When the digital recording age came along I built a home studio and began to learn recording, Acid Looping and combining those elements together to create grooves and compositions. I have a business and a family but I continue to be a weekend warrior playing in a Classic Rock Band for fun and fuel my passion to write grooves, soundtracks, jingle bites and ambient compositions. This is my Hidden Mission !
I also want to thank Frank from Stratage Guitars for providing me the opportunity to own the finest tool for my music compositions. Whether you are playing live or in the studio, Stratage Guitars are nothing short of amazing. I love using my Averon Custom Shop in the studio. It produces any tonal possibility, from sparkly clean warmth to beefy blues tones, smooth jazz sounds, right down to heavy rock grit and everything in between. Stratage produces sonic technology and innovation that re-defines a guitar players true needs, beyond expectation. Truly the most versatile guitar I have ever had the pleasure of playing To learn more about these incredible guitars and basses, visit www.stratageguitars.com"

hooyoosay Deliver Sharp Satire with “Nag Nag Nag” – A Bold and Witty Musical Statement
By hooyoosay, 2026-09-28
Planet Singer, 4th May 2026, by Grant Williamson.
In an era where originality often takes a back seat to formula, hooyoosay stand out as a truly unconventional and refreshingly unpredictable creative force. Not a traditional band but rather a global, anonymous collaboration of musicians, hooyoosay has built a unique identity over the years—one defined by diversity, experimentation, and artistic freedom. Their latest single, Nag Nag Nag, perfectly encapsulates this ethos, delivering a clever, satirical take on some of the most frustrating personality traits we encounter in everyday life.
The story behind hooyoosay is as intriguing as their music. What began as an impromptu studio session—musicians passing time while waiting for a delayed artist—quickly evolved into something far more meaningful. Those spontaneous recordings sparked the idea of an ongoing, anonymous musical project, inviting contributors from around the world to collaborate without the constraints of identity or expectation. The result is a catalog that spans genres, moods, and styles, united by a shared commitment to creativity and authenticity.
With “Nag Nag Nag,” hooyoosay lean into satire with precision and charm. From the very first moments, the track establishes a catchy rhythm and engaging arrangement that immediately draws the listener in. But it’s the lyrics that truly define the song’s impact.
Lines like “You’re always nagging, and constantly bragging” cut straight to the point, painting a vivid picture of a personality type that feels all too familiar. The song cleverly targets traits such as arrogance, selfishness, and intolerance—yet it does so with a playful, almost tongue-in-cheek approach that makes the message both entertaining and relatable. Rather than coming across as harsh or overly critical, the satire feels observational and witty, allowing listeners to reflect while still enjoying the humor embedded in every line. It’s the kind of track that makes you smile—and perhaps even think of someone specific.
A key strength of “Nag Nag Nag” lies in its vocal delivery. The interplay between male and female vocalists adds a dynamic and engaging dimension to the track, enhancing both the storytelling and the comedic timing. Their performances are expressive and convincing, perfectly capturing the tone of the lyrics. Musically, the arrangement supports the narrative with energy and precision. The groove is infectious, the pacing is tight, and every element feels purposeful—ensuring that the song remains engaging from start to finish.
Complementing the track is a fun and entertaining lyric video, which amplifies the song’s playful spirit. The visuals add another layer to the experience, reinforcing the humor and making the message even more accessible. It’s a perfect example of how hooyoosay approach their releases as complete creative packages, not just standalone songs. With “Nag Nag Nag,” hooyoosay deliver a smart, catchy, and thought-provoking single that blends humor with sharp social observation. It’s a track that entertains while subtly holding up a mirror to the world around us—proof that music can be both fun and meaningful at the same time.

Starting as the bass player that was good for a couple of lead vocals a set to give the singer a rest, Scott Parker (aka MidLyfe's Crisis) set about to create original songs and vibe from his studio in Middletown,, MD, USA. Having learned the drums on the kit left in the garage for years of band practice, Scott decided to learn to play some guitar, too, in order to bring his songs to life. This morphed into a bucket list item to write, produce, record, and mix a collection of songs about life. Now it is a full blown MidLyfe's Crisis...

We have been listening to Mick's music for quite some time, and it's excellent! Here's what's on his bio:
I have been involved in electronic music since the 1990's. Graduating from Amigas using OctaMed through to the brilliant Music X. Moved to the PC and immediately got grabbed by the Yamaha XG format. I released music under the name of Xscape(UK) then. I also wrote sysex help stuff for the XG format at the time. Drifted away from XG and moved into VST tech using Sonar and later Reaper. I had a gap of a few years due to personal reasons but have now returned using the brilliant Bitwig Studio, both sequenced and with (some) live input. I still have an XG machine that also contributes stuff at times.
I hope you enjoy the music both old and new. Anything that mentions Xscape(UK) is me of old, VanDav0r is the new.
Thanks for listening.
