Introducing myself

By Stephen Hopper, 2007-11-23

I am an amateur composer. Being a rather quiet man, I really don't like talking about myself. Besides, this is about music, not about me. If you would like to know more about me, just ask. I hope you enjoy listening to my little burnt offerings. That is why I compose...for your enjoyment.

Do please sign my Guest book, or email me with your comments. I would love to hear from you.

Regards,

Steve

Holidays

By Admin, 2007-11-23

Well I hope everyone in the USA had a great Thanksgiving! Speaking for myself I am still stuffed! Had a great time with the family.

I guess we decided to do a HOLIDAY SONG SUBMISSION again this year. We have done this for the last three years and have had some great songs. So please visit the forum for more information.

The Mods and site Admins had a conversation about song ratings and it was decided that we will keep these for awhile. What I will probably end up doing is putting in an option for Artists to decide if they want Song Ratings or not.

Thanks for supporting iMusicScene!

Dazed & WildCherry

Peter Mercer's "Last Man Standing"

By FocusPlayer, 2007-11-23

Peter has re-mixed my vocals/lyrics into his "Last Man Standing" and it's now on his Artist's page rather than mine -

New on mine - "Kyrie" -

Yes it's in Latin, and I'm playing everything you hear but one guitar riff.

Guitar and bass is my Variax 700 Acoustic - and the electric is also the 700 - but thru a Digitech RP-80. Percussion is me on my Roland HPD-15

Success in the music industry hinges on building constructive and positive relationships. And to do that, you gotta be cool. And there's nothing cooler than someone who can make fun of him or herself. In fact, if being made fun of was a sign of being cool, Sonicbids Artist Relations Manager, Benjy Kantor, would be the coolest guy in the world!!! :)

Having a sense of humor doesn't mean you have to be cracking people up all the time. It simply means that you're able to look at life's little foibles with grace and aplomb, and sometimes that means not being afraid to be embarrassed. Heck, you're a musician -- you know what it means to put yourself up on stage for everyone else to stare at!

There's no reason you shouldn't take that same fearless attitude with putting yourself in front of promoters and other artists, and at the same time realize you can't be everything to everybody, and some people might just laugh. And when they do, laugh right with 'em, because if nothing else it will let them know you're on-the-level, down-to-earth, and that you know there are funny things about the world we live in. More likely than not, you'll gain a fan, and it's a great start to building those relationships that are going to help you meet your music (or career) goals.

WORKING TITLES

By BOWTOW, 2007-11-22

A nearly finished collection of tunes. Lyrics and vocals are yet to be done. Some are already underway. Final arrangements and mixes will be left until a solid idea of how the vocal should sound forms in my head. That may take a while.

If anyone out there wants contribute a lyric or a vocal, please get in touch. I'm currently trying to do this through the Digital Musician site (it is a(humbly)paid job). Unfortunately it is a slow process, but its got to be worth waiting for.

Thanks for reading this.
