In this time when music is whorshipped as a god we mustn't forget what our elders said.."he can't hear the lyrics" that's the sad truth it's a musical statement that doesn't use our language..THUNG

use music as a form of expression, that's right

bb king would talks on his guitar..talk to us with your instruments ..music is an extension of our speech "you do think yu know" write music that says things, speak to us through music and your music will amplify and magnify and color such a word that is transforming before us.

When you have a moment, please do call round and listen to my latest collab with the amazingly talented Linda (Marie Ponte), called Where I Lay My Head. I originally wrote these words for the Mixposure same song title madness a while ago and put them back in my folder unused, so was delighted that Linda felt inspired to work on them. I think her vocals are super, and she has turned this into a really catchy song! Thank you for your time, Melsi

When I was about 11-12 years old I had an uncle that lived very close to me. His girlfriend was Sue Veliet, Captain Beefhearts mom. She lived with my uncle alot of the time especially on the weekends. We would go to her house alot also and spend time with granny, Don's grandmother. Sue was a wonderful lady always a smile on her face and I became very close to the family . In my teens she would tell me story's about stuff that Don and Frank Zappa would get into. One day when Don was home (he wasn't home much) but he played me a tape of songs from the Safe as Milk album without the vocals . He was working on that album at that time. He and John French gave me a stack of bumper stickers that came with the album and had a picture of a little baby face on them and said "Safe as milk" I stuck about a hundred of the all over the school bus and the junior high school. As I got older Sue became like a mom to me and my uncle a father. I worked at the shoe store he owned in lancaster Ca.. Sue was invited to Frank zappa's house to view his movie and invited me but my uncle wouldn't let me off work he just didn't get it. He knew them both also and thought of them as a couple mixed up kids lolo.Sue brought me a note from Frank that said hi rick sorry I missed you and signed F.zappa. Oh well that's about enough for now I'll ad more later.

WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS

SUNOCO NEEDS SOME HELP TO DECIDE FOLKS

PLEASE WRITE TO THEM LIKE HURRICANE MIKE DID

THE TROOPS WE SUPPORT ARE ALL OVER THE WORLD OF ALL NATIONS

THE ARTISTS ARE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD TO

www.sunoco.ca

contact us or customer service

or community funding section

Dear friends at Sunoco:

Please consider supporting the funding of BLANK CDs for "Old Toad" Gil Leclerc's effort to supply our overseas service personnel with independently recorded music.

Many of the artists that "Old Toad" Gil and his lovely wife, "Crazy-Lady Karen", have donated their resources and time in assuring that radio outlets in Khandahar Afghanistan (for example,) will have Canadian content available for those Armed Forces listeners.

This undertaking, for the last four and a half years, has be a source of solid comfort for our Troops. And Gil , along with his spouse has solely spearheaded the project working in his own spare time.

"Old Toad" Gil is a breadwinner who works long hours but who still has the patience, love and dedication for our courageous men and women who have chosen to put themselves in harm's way for the purpose of peace, security and human dignity, to assemble the recordings to be shipped.

Unfortunately, this noble initiative needs a financial boost or it could fail. To keep up this momentum is becoming too costly for just a few dedicated individuals. The wherewithall just isn't always forthcoming.

Please read below. Thankyou for any support you can offer Gil and Karen in this matter.

Cheers!
