Kodakid are a fresh and exciting band with a sound which can be best described as upbeat indie rock with a side helping of funk. The band strives to prioritise and captivate the listener, as anyone who has been to one of their energetic live sets can attest to. Their music is delivered with genuine passion and an unrivalled raw energy, an energy that finds it origins in the absolute confidence, belief and conviction that these boys have in their songs. Kodakid have been working hard for the past year to bring their spirited sound to the masses and this dedication is reflected in their steadily thriving fan base and ever growing media attention. They are receiving plaudits for their tight and technically accomplished performances and intelligently written songs, drawing inspiration from many styles and genres, a sound which is blended together cleverly for an audience clearly as important to them as their music. There is an undeniable spark within this group that makes them a truly exciting experience.

Lead singer Kev Power’s phenomenal rich vocals are superbly complemented by the zeal and skill of Alex Soikans on lead guitar, John Duignan on bass & backing and Tony Browne on drums. Formed in 2010, the momentum achieved to date shows this band's true class and potential.

Following a series of gigs in some of Ireland’s top venues Kodakid released their debut single ‘Pray for Some Luck’ which was made available via free download in March 2011. The release received a lot of local and national airplay as well as critical acclaim, including being reviewed in Hot Press Magazine’s Pick of the Fortnight.

Other achievements include playing high profile gigs in numerous Irish festivals and becoming a finalist in the Irish Daily Mail/TV3 'Fighting Chance' competition (winner announced in September). The band was also chosen to support The Noisettes on the Main Stage at the Manchester 'Great Getaway' Music Festival in the U.K and to open the Waterford Spraoi Festival

I've always loved this song. I don't as a rule do covers, but while just jamming on this in the studio one evening I decided it would be a lot of fun to try it. This is a VERY rough mix, I will be updating this as time permits me to work on it.

http://www2.mixposure.com/RS_Cain/song_focus_25622.php

Many thanks to the folks at Universal Music Group and The Harry Fox Agency for their assistance.

License# 1135185525

I have been thinking about this for some time and have finally come to the conclusion that YouTube is really the only way to go for videos on Mixposure. While I have liked having or own player, it really just does not make sense for us to use up the bandwidth and storage space that is required to host videos.

We will be removing all non-YouTube Videos from Mixposure in roughly a week. This will give everyone time to make copies if they need to!

Also please feel free to delete the non-youtube videos once you have grabbed a copy.

Thanks!

Dazed

I know it is a bit early but I wanted to post this so people could start working on their song submissions. For the past 5 years or so Mixposure has always done site themed songs. Like the Same Song Title Madness, Same Lyric Madness, Holiday Tunes but the one that seems to go over the best is the Halloween tunes.
For the Hallloween Song Submission, your goal is to create the best spookiest tune you can. It can be any genre you like. This is also a great way to collaborate with other Mixposure Artists. Please do not upload any tunes over the next month. Once we are in October, we will create a specific genre called Halloween 2011 for everyone to use. This just makes it easier to find all of the submissions.
For the month of September, the Mixposure Member with the most song reviews will win a Mixposure T-Shirt. You must have 300 reviews to quality! Remember, "cool tune", "love it" are not reviews! These will be deleted and not counted. Give your reviews some substance!
Again our apologies about the issues with the latest version of Internet Explorer. We are working hard to get it resolved. If you are using the newest version of IE9, you will see issues adding song info, blogs, private messages etc. Please use Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari or whatever other browsers I am missing in the mean time.
Thanks again for being a part of Mixposure!
