What is the final date for submission to the Country Song Contest?

I have seen a post that says the 29th, one that says the 25th, and had discussions about it getting moved out further.

I've been working on a song for a while now but I think it may come right down to the wire if the cut-off is the 25th.

That Feeling of Falling in Love!!!

Do please call round for a listen to Falling, my latest collaboration with the wonderful Heidi Henrickson from Denmark on vocals. This is a collab between myself, Vahur Kannikk & Billy Playle, and very pretty it is too!! x

Just wanted to apologize for the site running slow on Sundays. This is the day that our host company backs up the Mixposure hard drives in case of a disaster! While I hate the slowness, it is a must so I am willing to put up with it hehe.

It should go away soon.

I was on my wife's facebook page this morning and was reading a message she had posted. (correction...she did a repost from George Shepherd's Page) It seemed like one of the snope worthy articles due to the nature of the post. So I set out to research it and make sure it was real. Much to my sadness, it was an actual event. After researching it, I found a link to a youtube video of the experiment. Please read the article first before watching the video. I think it changes the way you will "view" it to an entirely new level.

So I will say to everyone on Mixposure, thank you for stopping to hear the music.

Written by Gene Weingarten - Washington Post

A man sat at a metro station in Washington DC and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, since it... was rush hour, it was calculated that 1,100 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

Three minutes went by, and a middle aged man noticed there was musician playing. He slowed his pace, and stopped for a few seconds, and then hurried up to meet his schedule.

A minute later, the violinist received his first dollar tip: a woman threw the money in the till and without stopping, and continued to walk.

A few minutes later, someone leaned against the wall to listen to him, but the man looked at his watch and started to walk again. Clearly he was late for work.

The one who paid the most attention was a 3 year old boy. His mother tagged him along, hurried, but the kid stopped to look at the violinist. Finally, the mother pushed hard, and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. All the parents, without exception, forced them to move on.

In the 45 minutes the musician played, only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money, but continued to walk their normal pace. He collected $32. When he finished playing and silence took over, no one noticed it. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the most talented musicians in the world. He had just played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, on a violin worth $3.5 million dollars.

Two days before his playing in the subway, Joshua Bell sold out at a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.

This is a real story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste, and priorities of people. The outlines were: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour: Do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize the talent in an unexpected context?

One of the possible conclusions from this experience could be:

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?

Another Mixposure Mascot is joining the family next week. So if anyone has any naming ideas, please post away. Since we have 2 small girls, they wanted to name him Maximus (From the movie Tangled) or Merlin. What do you think we should name this Newfoundland puppy?

Heart Of Stone
As you go through your days
Like nothing is wrong
I'm thinking up ways
To help keep me strong
So easy for you
To make a new start
While I try to pull through
With my broken heart
Where did the love go
Always felt it was strong
Oh what do I know
Losing you feels so wrong
Your heart turned to stone
In the blink of an eye
And I'm sitting alone
Still wondering why
Through all of our fights
The push and the shove
I'd let you be right
Just to have all your love
Taking for granted
Never counting the cost
Now I'm empty handed
And feeling so lost
My days and my nights
That's all that they are
This emptiness haunts me
Searching memories a far
Will never forget you
Nor wish you alone
But I hope that you're happy
With your cold heart of stone
