PRS Experience Continued

PRS Experience Continued

We got back late last night from the PRS Experience. I have to say I was impressed. The tour of the factory and talking to the PRS Guys was awesome. I think Rick and I spent about an hour with one guy showing us the process for how the PRS neck was made from start to finish. Talk about an intricate and painstaking process. These guys we extremely generous with their time showing us step by step the process from beginning to end. I can see why the build time for just the neck takes a week. We grabbed some pictures so I will be posting these soon.

We saw some remarkable musicians and Rick and I were able to get some pictures and videos that we will also post. The Grainger brothers are some serious musicians. I think they will be on Mixposure soon. Also Orianthi also played last night. She is an extremely talented guitarist.

I will be posting more soon but I wanted to give you an idea of how this trip has gone.

Thanks for reading,

Todd

A taste of my new CD "Hole In My Spine"

Dear Mixposurites!

I have just uploaded two songs from my new CD entitled Hole In My Spine:

- Hole In My Spine
- Rakkaus (Version C)

. Unlike Experimentalismus, which featured songs both new and older, Hole In My Spine consists of 12 of my newest songs (10 instrumentals; 2 with vocals) composed over the last couple of years, some of which have been released previously as downloadable singles, but most of which have not been heard by anyone before, as listed here:

1. Zero Zero Ten
2. Hole In My Spine
3. A Surging Bastard
4. wie ein Frühlingregen
5. Teeth Falling Apart
6. aus der Tiefe innen
7. Rakkaus (Version C)
8. A Dream
9. Zardusht
10. Mars Song
11. Pharmacological Negotiations
12. Tigers

Although mostly instrumental, Hole In My Spine is largely about coping with life-threatening illness, overcoming statistical mortality predictions and fears, gaining new spiritual perspectives, endurance in the face of numerous obstacles, and love in general. It is also about re-orienting myself to what I should be doing in life - creating music as it manifests out of my spirit in my soul, my ears and on recording media.

As I remember to do it, I will rotate other songs from Hole In My Spine over the next few weeks to share them with you. So, stay tuned.

Namaste and shalom, Woden Thoth

Fading Stars

Fading Stars

This song was inspired by my good friend who endured a long illness, (not to mention the self reflection it stimulated). The good news is that following the production of this song he fully recovered, making for a joyous but a somewhat awkward debut. Life certainly has its unexpected twists and turns.

Thanks,

http://www2.mixposure.com/David_C_Deal/

Lyrics to "Failure to Thrive".

Lyrics to "Failure to Thrive".

“Failure to Thrive”
Lyrics

I woke up today.
I wanted to run away. (sometimes I wonder why I stay)
A form without a face.
whispering things I don't want to embrace.
We all gotta go. ( Too bad you never know)
When your number's up... your number's up.

At the end of the day
the clock keeps ticking away.
will I go or will I stay?
will I wake up another day?

Life goes speeding by. ( I'm feeling cold inside)
There's nothing I can do to save you.
I feel inside I'm dying (If there's something I could do, I'd be trying)
Now I'm realizing (everyday we live is a day we are dying)

My eyes opened today, I gave a sigh of relief, smiling in disbelief
My worries melted away, for once I had a clear head
Too bad it was the day I woke up...dead.
