The album features numerous artist who have collaborated over the internet: <br /> <br /> <br />"<strong>Incredible.</strong> A Kiwi keyboardist/songwriter/producer teams up with several musician/songwriter/co-writers from around the world...and they never meet! They all send their tracks from their home countries via email. The result is an exciting, varied set of easy listening, contemporary, melodic pop rock, with and obvious international flavour. Ian Rushton is New Zealand's answer to Richard Clayderman - a UK-born, self-taught pianist and guitarist. <a href="http://www.soundclick.com/cybase"><strong>The Cybase Project</strong></a> is his third album since 2002. Rushton never gets in the way of the international soloists; instead preferring to colour the tracks with celestial light. German Wolfgang Menzel is the vocalist/collaborator on most of the album, and he brings an almost Axl Rose quality to the tracks. Contributions come from countries as varied as USA, Canada, Sweden and China! Technology has come so far that you can create an international album without leaving your bedroom." <br /><em>- Peter Dent, New Zealand Musician June/July 2005</em> </p> <br /></div> </div> <div class="contHeadline">Why this name?</div><div class="contInterview">The band name "Cybase" was derived from the fact that this is a "virtual band" primarily made up of Cubase music production software enthusiasts. The "Cy" part comes from the word "cyber" and "base" from "Cubase". Simple!</div>
With hypnotic rhythms reminiscent of Western American Indian pow-wows and East European laments, CLOUD discovers truth in chanting their own particular brand of R&B, Roots, Pop and Jazz. 'what goes around comes around', 'IMPOSTER BLUES', 'Take Control', 'run from the sun w yerrick!' and others keep us touching base with their music on an almost daily basis in what is fast turning into a sort of musical daily message! O.K... so maybe that means that CLOUD's life path is to write 365 songs based on 365 truths (and maybe one more for leap year) so that we can all start each and every day with a meaningful musical message. Try starting "your" day by playing one of CLOUD's tracks each morning, and you'll probably be a wiser, better person for it! So you better get to work, CLOUD. That means that you've only got to write and record 359 more songs! Sounds like a big task, but so was the Bible!... and it's now the Age of Aquarius, so maybe your time has come. We'll be waiting (and listening)! - Magic Potion/Noisehead 2007

<p>I've been adding guitar to backing tracks created by friends or to my own online for about four years now. Haven't played in a band in 30 years -- the road not taken, way back when.</p><p>I think of myself as a mostly self-taught blues player, but tackle almost anything that catches my interest: blues, blues rock, funk, folk or jazz (though I don't really have the chops or the theory knowledge to be very sophisticated about it).</p><p>My strengths, to the extent that there are any, are in knowing what NOT to play, more than what TO play -- and a fair amount of experience now getting my guitar to sound the way I want it to. </p><p>Anyway... </p>
Since there are so many new members here I thought I'd just let you all know that from time to time we have been doing some jamming in the Collaboration part of the forum. Usually someone will post a BT either of their own making or from the ones floating around the net and anyone who's interested can jump in and add a bit. No real rules or reserving parts, it's first in best dressed.
Sometimes these jams actually even end up as songs. There are plenty here to check out but I will point you towards just a few in a variety of styles.
