Just Some Some Updates!

By Admin, 2007-11-02

I just wanted to welcome all the new members to iMusicScene.com. Please let me or any of the other mods know if you need help with anything. Please visit the Introduction Forum and tell us a bit about yourself!!

As a reminder we have also completed the FTP Server for the Help Mix My Song Forum. This will allow you to zip up all the individual wav files and upload them to our server. This also can be used for collaborations. The person mixing the song can then work with the highest quality tracks available. We realized that this was the easiest way for our members. In other words, we are footing the bill for this so please use it!!

Please note - We have this on a completely different server and have a large hard drive on it and an obscene amount of bandwidth. However, if the bandwidth gets used up during the month for some reason, which would be difficult, you will just need to wait for the next month. I doubt this will be an issue but stranger things have happened.

Dazed

Another SC90 clip from the bash...

By T-Bone-BBQ, 2007-11-01

I've put another clip up of me playing my SC90 on two solos from the bash. I only put the solos up so as not to infringe on the "no covers" rule. It's called "SC90 Solos".

I used the C22B bridge pickup on my SC90 with no added boost or OD straight into the lead channel on my BelAir. I just rolled the guitar volume back for rhythm playing and turned it all the way up for the solos.

Exploring the different aspects of the instrument and its sonic pallete is something I spend alot of time on. As a selftaught guitarist I have to rely on my instincts and on the response I get from you as a listener.

Please enjoy my music and will return the favour!!

The story so far...

By SciFiArtMan, 2007-10-31

I began this venture here on Mixposure as SciFiArtMan under the band name Neomorphic Giant. I changed the artist name to my own because it seemed the right time to do so, as many aspects of my life have changed recently. No big deal - still the same music with a slightly different point of view and focus. Hope you enjoy what you hear!

Introduction: Although greatly influenced by artists in the progressive rock arena, these days I'm just letting the music flow in any direction the muses lead me! From soundtracks, to fusion, to pop, to electronic, to ambient, to new age, or experimental - I guess it's all a part of my inner spirit. Hopefully these efforts will be at least interesting, and at best inspiring to the brave listeners who may stray in my direction.

All sounds, composition, performance, etc. is just me, unless otherwise credited. Actually my son helped on Man Made Monster - so proud of that boy!!!

A Brief History: I've spent a lifetime in the music field playing bass guitar professionally for over 20 years, working with many legendary and Grammy-winning rock, pop, and fusion artists during that time. But this is the dawn of a new focus on other instruments and new ways of expressing the music that stirs the soul and excites the heart.

Musical Influences: Classic Yes, classic Genesis, Camel, UK, FM, Kayak, Gentle Giant, ELP, PFM, Jean Michel Jarre, The Beatles, Andres Vollenweider, Ultravox, Devo, Oingo Boingo, Lene Lovich, Bruce Woolley, New Musik, Art of Noise, Yello, Thomas Dolby, Steve Hackett, Liquid Tension Experiment, Souxsie and the Banshees, Tony Mansfield, Danny Elfman, Bernard Herrmann, Jerry Goldsmith, Ennio Moricone, Nino Rota, and the list rolls on forever....

Closing Thoughts: Thank you for taking the time to listen my music. I realize much of it is a bit of an acquired taste, and all I really ask is that you give it a chance and listen with an open mind for something a little different. I hope you will enjoy these tracks and I invite you to leave a brief message, so I'll know who has been here and how they found the experience. If you are an artist, be sure to include your music page link so I can sample your artistry as well. Thank you.

The Full Quid

By wilberry, 2007-10-30

The Full Quid is an alias for myself David Lunbeck

In australia a long time ago they used to say " he doesn't have quite the full quid " it means he is not all there , not right in the head . So after years of jamming and noodleing I decided to get it together and start to write real songs ( instead of half songs ) about life , love, loss, protest and things in general. I also started to collect some obscure vintage guitars to help create my sound .which I call Alternative Americana Tom Petty-mex ...........

Finally I am getting closer to " the Full Quid ".

Nexus Radio

By Wizard Sleeve, 2007-10-27
Nexus Radio

Nexus Radio is an online radio station that has been running for over a year, and is growing rappidly.

It was an idea in Wizard Sleeves eye for many years when he noticed that not one OMD had an online radio station. He put together a list of Idea's and took it to his then favorite OMD Mixposure. The manager seemed interest but after a year of talking about updates and not doing anything Wizard Sleeve got ants in his pants and just decided to start doing a show out of his own pocket for unsigned artists, and Mixposure could catch up if it wanted to. (this never happened, infact over the course of the next 2 years the manager was so terrible and the site went down so many times that near everyone gave up on it)

It started on a day Quietman, and old school friend of Wizard Sleeve, popped up almost completly out of the blue after being invisible for about 2 years. They did a fantastic show, although having not broadcasted for a while there were a few hiccups, and started to build an audience, as well as searching for more tracks from unsigned artists all around the web.

They did a few more shows together and even had "The Skadows" round (and old ska band from the 70's) play live on a couple of shows. Through a lack of support from quietman, be it financial or research, Wizard Sleeve took on a partner, R.S. Cain, who had been doing a show on live 365 for a while, and they began to build a masterpiece.

They now have 2 streams, a hifi that is 96kbps and a lofi that is 24kbs, as well as having 3 different shows a week. They are on the lookout for more DJ's, but are doing fine with there sunday to tuesday shows, as well as having the shows re-air throughout the week so if you miss it, nexus is always on and you can listen in.

Nexus, through lack of any support from other OMD's (even though they play out songs from, and promote the sites for free) is completly funded by R.S.Cain and Wizard Sleeve, not to mention a few generous donators, and they are planning on taking things a step further and turning it into an OMD, in the hope that Nexus one day will not only generate enough money so they can keep playing out your music for free, but also be a place where record companies can come to find out whats hot and whats not.

For show times click read more...
