As some of you are finding out, there are a lot of features at iMusicScene. With a lot of features, it can become confusing not to mention missed! So I thought I would try and post some of the features here in case you may have missed them.

The first entry is called File Slurp!

At the very bottom of your Admin Control Panel under "Extra", you will see: Slurp Your File. "Slurping" a file is just a way to Import a file that is already on the Internet. It is extremely fast and is great if you have to upload several songs. Click the Slurp Your File button. On the right you will see two fields. In the File Name field, add the Song Name. The other field is the "File URL". It is best if you cut and paste the URL here ex. http://www.iMusicScene.com/my.mp3. **REMINDER**The file MUST BE AN MP3 meaning it has to end in MP3 as shown in the example. So if you are trying to pull from soundsclick, it will not work.

Now when you go back to "Create Song" you will notice that the Import File Is enabled. Just select your song from the drop down list and click Add New Song. You have just Slurped your file!

Wow! I got on today and saw comments from FP, Rapster, and WHP folllowing blog posts! Thanks!!!
Today-- continued working out another song. Then started thinking about what it takes to compose music.
Some say Mozart "saw" entire compositions at once. Doesn't work that way for me. However, pieces of compositions come out of thin air for me. I save 'em up and then see if I can put them together.
Sometimes a part will seem to lead naturally to a second. However, most of the time I have to play and play and play and play before something pops up. Other times I have to play and play and play and play, then put the instrument down. When I pick the instrument backup-- there's the piece in full glory.
I can draw many comparisons between writing words and writing music. Many times, it's a drafting process. That is, go full steam for a while and come up with a structure. Then set it aside for a day or a week-- then pick it up again, and it's obvious what parts need to be cleaned up.
In my early days of trying to write songs, if it didn't come right out-- I'd just give up. One thing I've learned is that it's VERY worthwhile to keep pieces around-- record them or whatever. Also it's worthwhile to stick with a piece, even if it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I think there's a marinating process that goes on-- and it gets especially active while what you're playing seems to be getting you nowhere. The juice is permeating the meat (as it were) and then you get something really delicious when it's done.
Anyway-- thanks for reading this. Let me know what you do to compose.

PIcture shamlessly stolen from a web site somewhere...but I'll delete it before his lawyer calls...
Last week my brother took a walk along the shoreline of where he lives in Kent, England. he walks there most days with his camera..He was amazed and devestated to be met by this sight. It streatched for 5 miles I believe and there were thousands upon thousands of them..This is his pic, and was used in one of the national papers. This is an extract from the paper..
"Environment Agency officials are investigating what could have killed the starfish, which had been feeding on mussel beds.
They do not believe the deaths were linked to the recent storms because they were first reported to them last week.
They have also ruled out pollution or anything to do with climate change as the cause.
The agency said officials would investigate if the starfish were discarded by fishermen after the mussel beds were dredged.
A spokesman said: "Starfish congregate in vast numbers in some areas and feed on shellfish, so if the seabed was dredged then the starfish would inevitably have been caught in huge numbers."
Another theory is that the starfish had run out of mussels to eat and had moved into shallow water in the search for food.
The starfish bodies are not harmful and will probably be eaten by seagulls, the agency said. "
I think it`s heartbreaking....I would never have thought that so many little creatures could all die at the same time without being poisoned somehow..
Peace n Love Mags xx
well... today we have decided to put another mix of crazy bones up... as the previous one is nothing but bass...all the voices of the track just seemed to be competing for the same space and it sounded like it was being played through a blanket... and this didn't get us anywhere near the desired crispy and annoying 'low-fi' sound we wanted for it.
this one is cutting... granted... not to everyone's taste... but it would be good if we got some feedback on it..?
ps... be kind... this is the song i deleted all the tracks for... all i have are the original audio files.. so we are extremely limited as to 'fixes' at this stage.
but hey... three blogs now eh... this is going some for me... ha ha..

Its amazing what music can do to others and to ourselves. Due to the health of our fellow musician Rob Grant, we are united in a cause to see and hear our fellow musicians dedication and compassion not only for our friend to recover but for the music that keep us together. You know, it does'nt matter what your skin color, country you're in or what you believe in. Music can make us one. Everytime you see the news, you will ask your self what is happening in this world. For all the musicians out there, make your music a universal language and for Rob, get well soon. God bless you all!
