RiffWorks received a BEST IN SHOW award for the trend setters category at NAMM 2008 because of its online collaboration capabilities and RiffWorld.com!
The Sonoma Wire Works wizards have done it again. Introducing RiffWorld! The programming, engineering and marketing team have taken musical collaborations to another level with RiffLink. Read what <a href="http://news.harmony-central.com/Newp/2008/Sonoma-Wire-Works-RiffWorld.com.html" target=_blank>Harmony Central</a> has to say about it. And for the Mac users out there read what <a href="http://www.macworld.com/article/131719/2008/01/riffworld.html?t=201" target=_blank>Mac World</a> has to say.
Now let me tell you about it from a users viewpoint. I have been playing and recording as a hobby and some paying gigs (not really my thing) for more years than I can remember. I have recorded using Sound-on-Sound reel tape decks to 4-track cassette recorders to a variety of DAWs. But, they all frustrated me to the point I just gave up on trying to do any decent recording, until I found RiffWorks. RiffWorks is the main recording component of the Sonoma arsenal. It comes with an Instant Drummer, allows you to Rewire other apps like Reason or Reaper, it has a built in Rex player and also accomdates several VSTs. (Hold on while I catch my breath.)
After getting this wonderful piece of recording software I was enlightened and enchanted by the ease of use and inspired by cranking up the Instant Drummer and just start laying down riffs. Then I saw this thing call RiffLink that was in beta form. So, I naturally kept my distance. Then these self-proclaimed RiffLink Junkies kept telling me, "you have to try this."
RiffLink has allowed me to jam online and collaborate with people from around the country and around the world. We can chat online while we collaborate and discuss different facets of the song we are creating. It is phenomenal.
But listen, I am a guitar player not a writer. There is no way I could ever do the software or the amazing team at Sonoma justice. You have to try it for yourself. What are you waiting for? Click the link at the top of this post or the one at the bottom of the post.
