You Must Be Trippin'

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Bob Jasper was born in Colfax, Washington, a small farming town near the Idaho border. His father, an electrician, gave him his first guitar and a small homemade amplifier when he was 10 years old, on the very same day that the Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. By the age of 12, he had formed his first band and began playing sock-hops, mixers, and proms at all the schools in the area. Being the only Rock 'n Roll group in a six-county area, rarely a weekend went by that he wasn't out there performing somewhere.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp; After high school Bob moved to Seattle, where he was introduced to the blues by veteran David Brewer. They formed The Johnny Walker Blues Band, with the rhythm section from Bob's school band -- Johnny Walker on drums and Phil Haxton ( RIP my friend ) on bass. Brewer's brother-in-law, Kenneth "Boom" Gaspar, (currently keyboardist for Pearl Jam), was brought in from Hawaii to complete the group. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp; A few years later, Bob ended up in Portland, Oregon, which he has called home ever since. In reality, "home" has been a suitcase for him; spending most of his entire life on the road performing with a variety of different bands and playing a variety of different genres of music. From Alaska to Florida, northern Canada to Texas.<br />&nbsp; During his career he has had the privilege of sharing the stage or studio with Albert Collins, Lamont Cranston, Bobby Bare, Freddie Powers, The Ventures, Seafood Mama / Quarterflash, The Braswell Brothers, Billy Waldo, and many other notable artists.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp; In 1994, he released his first, self-produced solo CD, "Silicon Newbie No Mo' ", to rave reviews, and expects to release his second CD, " From Here On ", by the fall of 2009. This current project will feature Bob's all original blues/rock/swing tunes, accompanied by a full horn section.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp; Every time he picks up "Lucy", his Gibson ES335, you can expect something new and fresh. It's easy to tell Bob Jasper is a singer/songwriter/guitarist who truly loves to play his music.</p>
