Ah, only just noticed a reply from you. This was quite a while ago. Yes, choosing the genre here is annoying, unless you make really obvious, generic music. I guess all of my stuff is, technically speaking, 'crossover' but I've never put a track in there on the site because it's such a dull-sounding, non-descript genre name. It kind of says nothing and thus gives you no idea what you might be listening to.

Thanks for yr comments, glad you like the track. Yes, I'm not sure if Trip Hop is the most fitting of genres for this track, I dislike the whole 'what genre does this come under' bullshti, but like you say, you have to choose one. I would recommend playing it through some decent monitors or stereo speakers though. I'll be sure to check out yr stuff too. Cheers.

And that's a good title too, which really helps with instrumental pieces. I really struggle to come up with titles that I think fit and do justice to the music and reflect its mood without being too cliched. Yours is a bit cliched but fits nicely so good choice...

I listened to this out of the crappy in-built speakers you get on every laptop and it sounds great. You know - the ones that have almost zero bass? Should sound excellent through some decent speakers. Great collection of sounds here and a very tidy mix. I'm having difficulty finding anything to criticise, really. Perfect percussion playing off the main groove, good movement of the melodies. Perhaps it could have been a bit longer as it maybe ends a bit abruptly. I must check out your other stuff. I only found this song because I was wondering who had posted anything else under 'Trip-Hop' as I've recently posted two new tracks under that genre. I can't say that your track is exactly trip hop but then I wouldn't say mine are either. But you have to choose some approximate genre...

Casino Burn are my main 'band', it's a studio type affair. Musically it's instrumental and veers towards the soundtrack/cinematic genre (soundtracks for imaginary films). I like a wide spectrum of genres/artists, so I tend to pull my influences from alot of different places (Trip Hop, Electronica, Post-Punk, DnB, Northern Soul, Noise-Rock).

2012 sees the release of a new Casino Burn cd entitled 'Selected Recordings 2006-2011' and it's available for free. To obtain a copy, simply go to the Six Sixty Recordings website and follow the on screen instructions. By the way, it's an actual cd (remember them) not a download album.
