The color blue, poured out onto a thin piece of wood,
Came into contact with red, a brightly colored hue.
And as if turning back to oil, a perverse warmth rose in blue,
Oh, the things blue wanted to do.
Calling out to the Painter:
“Please, mix the color red with me, the color blue.
You could make a purple that'd make you proud, and happy too.
See? It's not just for me, but for You.”
But all night, all night the Painter drew
With green, white, and no sign of using blue.
Brush strokes left no hope as red was used,
Mixed with yellow, to make a sorrowful orange moon.
Crying out to the Painter:
“Why is my life left to dry on this prosaic piece of wood?
What about the plan we had?
Why'd You have to mess up what was meant to be so good...”
“...for me?”
At this moment blue fought to perceive.
And as much as an oil-based paint could fall on its knees
Asking “Please tell me. What do You want from me?”
This time, this time blue finally heard,
As blue grew softer, the Painter louder, with devoted words
Said “Stand still in My Will, and know I'll work
For your good, where I'm stood a glimpse is larger than your world.”
This time, this time the Painter drew,
With clean white, a huge sky painted blue.
Brush strokes gave new hope, a stunning view
With all as witness of what's truly beautiful.

Proverbs 16:1-2 "To man belong the plans of the heart,
but from the LORD comes the reply of the tongue. All a man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the LORD."
9 "In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps."
Proverbs 19:21 "Many are the plans in a man's heart,
but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails."
Job 28:12-13 "But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell? Man does not comprehend its worth;
it cannot be found in the land of the living."
21-28 "It is hidden from the eyes of every living thing, concealed even from the birds of the air. God understands the way to it and he alone knows where it dwells, for he views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens. When he established the force of the wind and measured out the waters, when he made a decree for the rain and a path for the thunderstorm, then he looked at wisdom and appraised it; he confirmed it and tested it. And he said to man, 'The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.' "
Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
Wow! Beautiful piece of work here and a powerful message. I can only second Carol's thoughts!
Powerful vocals, in a well written and nicely done tune. The acoustic sounds big and full. Enjoyed listening, Charles.

Fantastic ambience and two very different but excellent voices. Great the way the emotions are pulled between the Springsteenesque story telling to plaintive full voice. lovely stuff. ftlpope
Think this is the first of your songs I've heard. It certainly will not be the last. This is a quality performance, of a very good song. Enjoyed this thanks
