Here I Stand
written by Christine Leakey in 1998
guitar and vocals, Christine Leakey
Here you can see Billy working his mixing magic on my demo. It's a song I wrote in 1998 entitled, Here I Stand and is on my upcoming album, Tapping Trees in a Trinket Box of Treasure. My friend Jo is holding the guitar I used in the recording which also happens to be one of Billy's guitars that Bruce Springsteen used on tour before. Jo was Clarence Clemons horn tech in the E-Street Band and also Bruce's tour photographer and Billy was Clarence Clemons artistic director and member of his band, Temple of Soul... It was really refreshing to work with Billy. He was fast and good and made a great suggestion to slightly alter my musical phrasing (not lyrical) in how I sing a few of my syllables. You can view some of Jo's photos here: http://www.jolopezphotography.com And here is a link to Billy: http://www.billylivesay.com
