This is my take over a terrific backing I picked up at the FDP (fender discussion page). The backing itself is so rich and so well played that I was mostly trying to stay out of the way of the sax and hit it with a counter melody that might work. Pretty sure I slammed this a little too hard with a compresser/limiter at the end of mixing, but it seems to hold up...
CS-356 into a Womanizer pedal (and maybe a BD-2 in front) recorded direct to ProTools with some delay and Vintage Warmer from PSP.

This has a late Saturday night groove for me, can imagine a few drinks and just kicking along. Has the word Sweet in capital letters all over it. Superb track very well done

Hey Clay;
Love the tablas (my fave percussion instrument) -works very well with this, like the sax addition, nice interplay with the instruments; a cool 'handclapping' percussive is alright, gives some motion, A very tasty pensive blues, with a jazzy edge. Nice piano entry, and piano organ. Dig this groove very much; ell done amigo. Most inspiring.
EXCELLENT. A fave, worth many listens. Merci beaucoup mon ami. Tres bien.
Have another great 2008.

I'm a midlife blueshound who hasn't been in a band since high school, when my main ambition was to sound as much like "Get Yer Ya Yas Out" as possible. Still workin' on that in my self-taught way, but except for an ocassional open mic blues jam most of my playing time now is over backing tracks created by myself or online friends from some of the communities I frequent. At my site over at Soundick (which never seems to make you throw anything away) there are now over 500 of such efforts archived. That's a lot of recording practice, but only a marginal increase in playing chops.

I bring most of the very best stuff over here when I remember to do it, so the things here generally stand the test of time to me. Elsewhere I'll tackle anything from blues to rock to jazz to funk if I can find a way in, but the results don't always merit (or reward) repeated listen.

Fun for me, but as they say: your mileage may vary!

Thanks for stopping by. I promise to review your stuff "real soon".
