Last week was my 7 year-old's birthday, and a supreme test of wills for my 3 1/2 year-old who felt left out all week long. Real birthday Tuesday, stuff...
Last week was my 7 year-old's birthday, and a supreme test of wills for my 3 1/2 year-old who felt left out all week long. Real birthday Tuesday, stuff mailed in from relatives all week, party on Saturday with all the 'big boys', etc...
For some reason, we decided to have the party at that ancient and venerable New England institution, the neighborhood candlepin bowling alley (small balls, small pins). The little guy miraculously bowled three spares and a strike the first time he's ever been there, but called it "The Bowling Area" instead of the bowling alley.
This funky little one is for him *sniff*.

I put the backing together out of loops (including the strat chops for the rhythm) and added a lead with a CS-356 into a Crybaby Classic, a TR-2 and a BD-2 into a Womanizer pedal recorded direct.

Nice backing, very solid and funky. Some sweet clear guitar works makes this a great listen well done

wow, like it - very cool tune, great funky track. The guitar sound so clear, great listen. Fantastic production

I'm a midlife blueshound who hasn't been in a band since high school, when my main ambition was to sound as much like "Get Yer Ya Yas Out" as possible. Still workin' on that in my self-taught way, but except for an ocassional open mic blues jam most of my playing time now is over backing tracks created by myself or online friends from some of the communities I frequent. At my site over at Soundick (which never seems to make you throw anything away) there are now over 500 of such efforts archived. That's a lot of recording practice, but only a marginal increase in playing chops.

I bring most of the very best stuff over here when I remember to do it, so the things here generally stand the test of time to me. Elsewhere I'll tackle anything from blues to rock to jazz to funk if I can find a way in, but the results don't always merit (or reward) repeated listen.

Fun for me, but as they say: your mileage may vary!

Thanks for stopping by. I promise to review your stuff "real soon".
