My touchstone, since my earliest days playing, has always been 70s-era Rolling Stones. They were my ticket to a lifetime listening to the blues, a journey that has mostly taken me further away from straight-up rock. But I've been woodshedding in Open G tuning lately, wallowing in the elements of their classic riffs.
This track tumbled out after a lot of fiddling around.
If anyone wants the backing track, it's available here:

Enjoys.... perhaps.

man -you do a sweet artistry on tunes that have such great phrases, like the stones, but this is very mch you...it seems to get you to your roots, love that wah, wahing away..soaring so cool. A bit of sounds from various song sources, -arranged well, DYNAMIC tune. Love the overlapping guitars, just the way it should be, fine percussives, Love it...Like to hear more Clay...so don't 'FADE AWAY'...EXCELLENT.

Never heard your stuff before, but if it's the same quality as this, then I'm gonna catch a few more. Some nice shrieking guitar on this. Just the way it should be. super piece, well played and well put together.

What a great opening to this very cool tune! The tones here are very defined and oh so very well excecuted. The deep reverence for the blues can be felt throught out the whole song. A very modern aproach to this kind of blues. The whole groove is so relaxed and such a great listen. I am VERY glad i found your music Clayville!!!!!

I'm a midlife blueshound who hasn't been in a band since high school, when my main ambition was to sound as much like "Get Yer Ya Yas Out" as possible. Still workin' on that in my self-taught way, but except for an ocassional open mic blues jam most of my playing time now is over backing tracks created by myself or online friends from some of the communities I frequent. At my site over at Soundick (which never seems to make you throw anything away) there are now over 500 of such efforts archived. That's a lot of recording practice, but only a marginal increase in playing chops.

I bring most of the very best stuff over here when I remember to do it, so the things here generally stand the test of time to me. Elsewhere I'll tackle anything from blues to rock to jazz to funk if I can find a way in, but the results don't always merit (or reward) repeated listen.

Fun for me, but as they say: your mileage may vary!

Thanks for stopping by. I promise to review your stuff "real soon".
