Now that it's over, now that it's done
Now that the silence has said all it can
And the story ends where it began
A time and place so familiar again
I'll put my brave face on
Then close the door, turn up the fire
Play our songs till the early hours
Took a walk through the park
Sat amongst the wild flowers till dark
And as the scents filled the air
I forgot you weren't there
Like a distant planet round the sun
Trying to get some warmth and finding there was none
Now I have no need to try and impress
I've become another of the unblessed
Still I'll fix a smile to my face
Then close the door, turn up the fire
Play our songs till the early hours
And so it goes - yes it does
The empty road - lies ahead
The wheels they turn in my head
And they never stop
very nice guitar sound on this.. the vocals are very good.. might put a tad of reverb on the snare, but besides that it is a great song.
Guitar is working nicely for me! Haunting melody. Vocals sound great and they are not bloated with effects. Outstanding job on the song!
Lovely song, nice to hear a guitar vocal number that sounds so sweet. really enjoyed this one
Nice acoustic track. I simply like the song and the guitar playing. I will surely find some time to track down your other stuff posted.
This fit my mood today remarkably well.
Love the clear acoustic guitar. This would be fantastic live - late night set - with a real drummer on brushes... Nice work - your lyric is ez to relate to.
Very nice tune, Dan. Great vocals with super playing and a very nice chord progression!
Mike
Very nice guitar. Interesting vocal melody. I must suggest making the vocals a bit "dryer"; this is a case where the effects take away some of the vocal power. Nice harmony-- a perfect touch to add a layer. A top-notch tune.
