This is my favorite song that I have ever made, I tried to keep it mellow with the keys but still keep it interesting with the drum beats. The background synth has a nice touch but I wanted it to sound more electro so i changed the instrument's style just a bit. Looking back I am still not sure that leaving the bass line that i had wrote for this was a good idea or not. When I had the bass in it didn't sound mellow enough and It just really took away the focus on the keys.

I was very really a fan of those really retro sounds. This song has a lot of potential, but you might want to focus on getting some better sounds. You have the arrangement down for a great down tempo electronic track, now you just need to make it sound amazing. Good work, keep going!

My dad (DJ Ryder) is the guy who got me interested in music and introduced me to some of my influences like pink floyd, mantronix, soul sonic force, sugarhill gang, and a bunch more. I started playing trumpet when I was in middle school for band and I learned how to read and write sheet music. about 2 years later I started getting back into music when I met Vyncent Flaw at the Crest theater. Me and my friend (Rewriter) started talking about forming an electro band since he had some instruments and he hooked me up with a program called Fruity Loops so I could start making songs and that is pretty much what got me started. I have tried to get into a real metal band for a while but nothing never really worked out and the band I formed with my friend has not gone anywhere, instead we just worked individually as he became Rewriter and I was just David Mercer. I wound up buying an electric guitar and an electric drumset at the start of my senior year but the drums broke so I stopped using them. I just kept programming with FL studio and made quick songs here and there but because I never put anymore then 30 minutes they never went anywhere. I took a try at other genres of music with side projects such as 8-Bit Bonanza, Dolphin Strangler, and I tried to form groups with other internet musicians. The one song that did have some success was made under the Dolphin Strangler name, which I only made one song for. Dolphin Strangler was created to see how dark I could be with a mix of metal and industrial. The only song I made was "Blow Hole" and it featured my friend James St. James who sung the song for me. it was featured on a big collaberation CD for the site enterthe404.com but I stopped working in the project shortly after because of the material it contained.

Now In 2008 I have released 2 EPs under David Mercer and 1 under 8-Bit Bonanza. I have been making music for about two years and i now that I have graduated from high school I am currently working on my first real debut album. I am trying to take this very professionally by purchasing a Microkorg that comes with a vocoder and a better mic for better quality so I can do live shows. At the same time I just joined a new metal band and I think that this one will acctually last because the people are really good and they want to start working on music as soon as possible.

I am also the admin (and have been for almost a year now) for a big music promotion organization (focusing mainly VGM and chiptune bands) called the Squish Squash Squad, or SSS for short. I am currently working on the first episode of the SSS podcast which have a big amount of different genres of music and exclusive interviews with some of our featured artists. Last but not least I have been a moderator for hackthemusic.com for a while before it shut down.
