My mother had a thing about running out in the dark We'd organize search parties like other families would walk in the park She didn’t have a problem with leaving her kids alone. She also had this thing about Englebert and Tom Jones I will return from Oblivion Never had an answer for the world I was living on I will return I will return. At the age of 13 years well I won a spelling bee They put my picture in the paper with everybody fawning over me Straight A's student council science medals thought that I could do no wrong No body told me that one day I'd be living on Oblivion I will return from Oblivion Never had a reason for the world I was living on I will return I will return. My Grampa loved his Beechnut and he'd spit into a coffee can. He’s chew and wear sunglasses while he watched Ed Sullivan. He’d have me empty that can at the point it was overflowing I guess he knew already I was destined for Oblivion I will return from Oblivion Never had an answer for the world I was living on I will return I will return.

Again, some nice progressions David...and the vocals work pretty well for me. Very nice effort! ~Blake

Lots of solid potential in this song. The vocals and guitar are very good.
What I really like about this song is the lyrics. Very heavy and vulnerable. Thanks for sharing.

I liked the title right up front and think the lyrical idea for this song is great... ! yea the production could be improved on but in my humble opinion its more important to document our musical creations ...thanks to the digital world... so pretty cool Dave!

Hey, David --- this song does build up after a muted, soft start. I was about to suggest you kick up something in the mix, but once it gets going, it isn't bad. It still might be a bit overly compressed -- too thick -- which also seems to muddy things up a bit when the vocals come up. Neat idea for the song.
