I was born in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia on 7-th October, 1986. I started studying music when I was 6 years old. I graduated from the Tbilisi Z. Anjaparidze Music College, Piano Major (1993-2003), also as a vocalist from the Experimental Music School (1993-2003), and from Tbilisi State Conservatory (2003-2008, Piano Major) I'm a laureate of several International Piano Competitions (Pinault Music Society International Piano Competition in New York, USA, etc...) I have performed at the Steinway Hall, NY in 2000... Traveling to America had a very big influence on me and played a major role for me to get into popular music. At that time period, I started to write songs and get into the music industry. I took a stage name: "Emkay", made up from my initials (M and K). I worked in the popular and classical music simultaneously. In 2003, I moved on to study at the Tbilisi State Conservatory, from which I successfully graduated in 2008. I've set up my own home studio, started to learn music production and sound engineering. I released one independent album "Listen to the voice" in Georgia in 2005. I had several songs on airplay on "Fortune+ FM 103.4", Local Radio Station. I have 6 music videos, mainly in 3D graphics, which were broadcasted on the local TV "Maestro". In 2006, I took part in the musical project "Rock-Cantata - Generation XXI", The premiere was at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre, Performed by symphonic orchestra, rock group, popular singers and soloists. I was one of the performers and authors of this event, which got a lot of success. In 2007 my song "Passion" got a Honorable Prize at the "Song of the Year" contest. (USA) Also in 2007, I've participated in a National Patriotic Song Contest of Georgia: "Patri-Note", The song I wrote called "We will Change", was performed in the finals of the contest at the Tbilisi Philarmonic Hall. I've also composed film soundtracks, theatre music and music for ads on television. In 2008, I studied Songwriting at the world famous Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, USA. Recently, I was selected as one of the songwriters from Berklee College of Music to have personal masterclasses with the Multi Grammy Award winning Singer/Guitarist/Songwriter John Mayer. It was a wonderful experience. Now I'm back in my hometown and working on my newest album which will be out in Fall 2009...
