Part 1 of my track called Sub Atomic Love. Shares some of the same sounds, tempo, key and also features the same two female vocalists performing wordless vocalisations, which have been heavily edited and layered to create something I think is unusual.
This track is much much jazzier than Sub Atomic Love and also has a funk section though I'm not talking James Brown - nothing like his band's playing! And no brass or slap bass either.
Lots of keyboard playing in this one and the whole thing started just by playing some jazzy, minor chords over the swinging, gentle ride cymbal-led drums. That was the base and everything flowed from there.
Not so much guitar in this one (for me) but there are still some fairly cool parts and a few big riffs. Not many guitar effects here either, just my standard light delay, reverb and distortion. However, there's some automated heavyish delay on some of the high funk chord bits which is pretty effective. No slide guitar playing in this one, which makes a change.
See the last couple of minutes for some interesting pitch-shifted drums. This section makes me think of a live, 3-piece jazz band as it's just bass, drums and arpeggiated keyboard hypnotically twinkling away. The drums in those few minutes remind me of drum'n'bass, not that that's the genre - it's more the way they're dominant and pitch-shifted and very busy.
The two vocalists are fairly balanced in terms of lead vocals though often come together on some nice harmonies.
Bass is a mixture of double bass keyboard patch, bass guitar and guitar played through an octave-lowering pedal (almost all the bass in the funk section)
As always, I've very much enjoyed making this one and am slightly sorry to have finished it. But, I still have others to complete from the same massive master project song file so look forward to doing that.

"Mesmerizing is simply the way to call this track. It's a cross between Nu-jazz and trance."
Thanks for the brief review. I can't hear the trance that you're talking about but I agree about the nu-jazz. What are the elements or instruments that remind you of trance? I guess you mean trance as in psychedelic dance music eg goa trance.....

MIZIEYA: thanks again for your continued good reviews. This is definitely your most creative yet!
"the instruments and the vocals making love" - I'm always trying to do that and it works particularly well with harmony vocalisations so there are lots of vocals that fade into other parts or across changes and so on. I try to match some vocals with guitar playing and sometimes do a good job to the point where they briefly come together in a way that just makes a combined sound rather than there clearly being two different instruments playing at the same time. It's good fun, too!

"A very original piece of music. This is so listenable and dynamic, I was blown away by every note.
Peace, Jim"
Thanks very much. I like it but then I work very hard at every composition in excruciating detail so that I am happy with the final result. As you like this one so much, please check out some of my other tracks as I think you'll enjoy them too.
First one to hear is the 2nd part of this track, called Sub Atomic Love, which I think is even better and much more beautiful, especially as regards the vocals.
I have another page on Mixposure under the name 'Static Nomad' and other pages on Looperman and Soundcloud. Would love to get any feedback you can give as I use constructive criticism to improve and specific points can and do help me.
Thanks again!

Mesmerising - feeling as if im dancing with mermaids - The Siren Calls... its a very experiential mental soundscape- past life regression almost recalling being in the womb- immersed in ambiotic fluid... i am getting fluidity with this song on numerous levels. But its also sexual- the instruments and the vocals making love- theres a lot here and it works. its great.
