Christian Harbor Church 2016 Evening Christmas Program 12 Corey Finney

Category: Music
Duration: 00:09:33
Description:
Christian Harbor Church in Orrville, Ohio presents the evening portion of our 2016 Christmas program, courtesy of myself, Corey Finney. This event took place around 5:00 pm on Sunday, December 18. I set up my Unbranded Windows 8 tablet in the balcony to shoot this video.

The event is presented as a 21-piece series of clips, each one being a separate YouTube upload and listed chronologically. Altogether, there is over 1 1/2 hours of video. Below are the details of the 2016 evening Christmas program play list:
[01] -- FIERCE NINJA BATTLE: Two of our youngsters fight to the death shortly before everything starts. How brutal! How gruesome!
[02] -- AHHH... THE RHYTHM: everyone thinks they have it, don't they? This is more silliness captured beforehand.
[03] -- GROOOOVY! This is one of Larry Adkins Jr.'s favorite little riffs to play on the acoustic guitar. I thought I remembered being better with the timing on my clapping when I walked up there. Oh well.
[04] -- PRAYER TIME: Pastor John Boggs always likes to gather folks for a quick benediction, even if we happen to be starting late.
[05] -- GREETING AND OPENING PRAYER, with Pastor John Boggs and Pastor Chris Hunt.
[06] -- PRAISE AND WORSHIP--"NOEL": This is the premier presentation of this song to the congregation.
[07] -- PRAISE AND WORSHIP--"HOSANNA" MEDLEY, which mixes two fairly well-known modern songs with the same title.
[08] -- CASSIE ADKINS' CLARINET: She performs three classic Christmas songs.
[09] -- PASTOR CHRIS HUNT READS "THE CHRISTMAS GUEST", a poem he chose for this evening.
[10] -- LARRY ADKINS, JR.--"YOU ARE THE REASON": a song he wrote just for this occasion.
[11] -- THE SMUCKER FAMILY SINGS two classic Christmas songs.
Jim Byall also presented some poetry after the Smucker family sang. Even though I remember being able to hear him clearly that night, he spoke quietly enough that much of his speech recorded by my tablet was difficult to discern because of the background noise. Therefore, his portion of the program is left out of this play list.
[12] -- COREY FINNEY--"WISE MEN": a new Exalted Dirt composition I wrote just for this occasion. I was considerably nervous playing and singing this simultaneously, especially doing it alone. It's so much different than recording in my studio!
[13] -- PASTOR JOHN BOGGS--"SILENT NIGHT": This is one of our Pastor's many spontaneous moments, this specific one being brought out by silence during the offering time. F sharp?!?! I should've used Larry's capo!
[14] -- PRIZES!!! The adults and teenagers were more excited about the Lite Brite set than anything else! Who wants a Swiffer Wet Jet? Apparently not Kerri Male!
[15] -- JAAKOB HUNT--"WE THREE KINGS": Is it just me, or did he seem eager to get that over with?
[16] -- REVELATION DANCE TEAM: Last year Christian Allender hit Mariah in the head with his box doing this same routine. I confess, I was watching this time to see if he'd do it again. Alas, it was a flawless performance! Perhaps she threatened his life beforehand.
[17] -- CHC STUDENTS--"12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS": They did this last year with Dylan Erb instead of Ethan. It was so funny it made my head hurt. This year was not much different. The video here is a pale representation of the live experience, but hopefully viewers get a good laugh from this.
[18] -- CHC STUDENTS--"CHRISTMAS COOKIES": This is a new entry this year, another silly skit. "Dat boy dead" and "I'm dead!" are my favorite lines here.
[19] -- PASTOR CHARLENE BUNNER--"O HOLY NIGHT": A CHC Christmas program tradition.
[20] -- INVITATION AND CLOSING: Pastor Boggs welcomes the congregation for prayer while we play "Noel" again. He then gives some announcements and closes with leading the congregation in saying our trademark "It just don't get any bigger than God" and singing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas". I had trouble finding the key for that one. By the time I figured it out, he was done. Nuts!
[21] -- SMUCKER SILLINES: The camera catches the Smucker kids playing with the candy cane props afterward, just before I hit the stop button.

Thanks to Charles Dixon, who, if I understand this correctly, started coming all the way from Columbus (WOW!) to play the drums for us (for free! Just like the rest of us, we do it for the love; that's all). I think this was his second Sunday playing with us, even though he had been attending some Sunday mornings for a few months before this.
