Song Lyrics
Whatever you told me, it wasn't your fault. I must have compelled you to think all those thoughts. And whatever the reasons i'll take them with me. To...
Whatever you told me, it wasn't your fault. I must have compelled you to think all those thoughts. And whatever the reasons i'll take them with me. To somewhere in the foothills where you won't have to see, i'll take it there - for you. I'll take it there for you.
If you'll give me your doubts I'll take those along. What's a little more weight if I know it makes you strong? I will tie them to a rope and drag them through the fall..No it will not be a problem no...Not anything at all...I'll take those too - for you. I'll take those too for you.
And if while I'm on the road I happen to get lost; I promise I will find my way at whatever the cost. I will hide your blues. I will even hide your lies. Whatever makes you sad again..Whatever makes you cry. I will take myself like I promised I would back down to where I came from where I might be understood. And I don't seek ways to blame you now...I've dealt with quite q lot...You just deal with what you're dealt with, and I'll deal with what i've got.
For you..For you...For you...For you...
Whatever you meant to me it wasn't your fault. I'll try to take it all with a grain of salt. Its time now to pick..And leave it behind..I'm leaving my heart, but I've made up my mind...For you my love..For you my love.
And if while I'm on the road I happen to get lost. I promise I will find my way at whatever the cost..I will hide your doubts I will even hide your truths..Whatever you don't wanna see..Whatever bothers you. I will take myself like I promised I would. Where I'll never be a problem and where I might do some good. And I'll be plenty happy, girl. You know I can adapt. You just worry with yourself..You just worry about that.

Nice production. Great mix and this moves right along. Got my feet a tapping.

Future Self was created this year by Will Mitchell as an attempt to solidify his and his friends' presence in the Atlanta music scene. Through the work of him and his close collaborator, Joe Koubek, they were able to record some very interesting and wonderful tunes driven by mocked-up drum beats they created on the computer. Once these were done the tracks were sent to Jeff Thal in Tampa, FL to have drums put on. Through the magic of recording and the internet and some clever editing the three musical voices were put together in one musical souffle and that's the current sound of Future Self on their record Debt to a Muse. When the songs were being recorded the rough cuts were delivered to Ali Bats, an artist in the Atlanta area, who created a different visual piece for every song on the record (and also the cover image). So the image you see paired with each song was actually created from the song itself (the mood, the lyric, etc.). Currently the band is regrouping to prepare to play lots and lots of live shows in and around the Atlanta, GA area. The EP goes on sale in late July on both CD and vinyl, and copies can be bought at various stores and online at that time. The EP will also be available for free download on both Mixposure (now!) and on Future Self's website when it goes live in July 2009.
