It seems as though the chips are down You feel you wear a madman's crown And all your so-called friends are out of town. No phone calls or no letters come And everyone you know looks dumb Or could it be just you they wish to shun?
Chorus: And they say you're crazy Cause you've been away To a farmyard hazy So fun to stay.
The lady in the upstairs flat You wonder what she's staring at You've never seen a look as strange as that. And every job that you may seek You've been refused before you speak Your history has branded you as weak.
Chorus
Instrumental and chorus
So ostracized you may be sore As each one drops the mask he wore The pose of being friendly and mature. And then you find someone like you Whose misconceptions are as few You know your world of dream is largely through.

This song is about an individual suffering from psychotic hypomania, and the difficulties that people around him have in dealing with the fact of his illness.(The popular press have made the word psychotic synonymous with psychopathic, which is a corruption of the true meaning of the word.)

Oh how cool is this!!! The title instantly drew me to listen to this song, and I am sooooo glad I did. What a great song! The lyrics are fantastic, and the vocal delivery - amazing. It's so different, but very, very enjoyable. The violin and viola are extremely expressive in there ... Song reminds me of music Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds would do ...
Congrats! I'm lovin' this!
Heinz.

Love the title, the piece was certainly not what I expected. This has a clean quality which I liked. The vocals worked well for me as did the instrumentation. This really is a nice track enjoyed it well done

Oh wow. Maybe I should start doing third listens? My subwoofer was off. >_> The vocals are all that's wrong with the track. Sorry about that! :X

Huh... this first second listen thing might be good for this track too. Soooo... _____ Aha, thank you underscores! Anywho. I listen through my headphones to force myself to appreciate something for the musical quality. And damn if I didn't appreciate it this time, possibly even more so than the last! I can't play violin (But I sho' nuff can fake it. xD) But, you sir, are a master. Loving the track all the way through! Too boot, you got some great harmonies that bring a bit of uniqueness and nostalgia simultaneously to the table - something not often done! _____ K, now for the second listen. The harmonies feel like they were a little under-EQ'ed to be so up and front with the mix, and I feel like the mix itself could use some girth in multiple places. It's not a particularly BAD mix, but I feel like it has plenty of room for improvement, too. To end the second listen, 4.0 stars. ____ Like I said on the front of my page, I don't advertise the fact I do free masters unless I think the track would improve drastically from it. My email's BGarnerappli@gmail.com if you want to take me up on that offer.

Geoff Davis is a singer and songwriter of rare talent. He was born in Bristol in the UK and lived there for most of his life. However, in 2009 he moved to Nuoro in Sardinia, Italy and still lives there with his Italian wife. In the past he has fronted the pop/rock band The Freudian Slippers and the acoustic based trio Davis, Edwards & Riley, the latter often having the acclaimed violinist Graham Smith (formerly of String Driven Thing and Van Der Graaf Generator) as a guest at their gigs. A number of his songs have been broadcast on BBC Radio and he has also performed his material, along with Dave Edwards, Syd Riley and Graham Smith, on British television.
Geoff's Album Ancient Wisdom, Modern World displays his talent as a singer and a songwriter with its wide range of musical styles, brilliant lyricism and variety of vocal techniques.
About a year ago he joined the Nuoro based band Optimistic Sound who perform a mixture of classic English, American and Italian rock, blues and soul music.
