I was thinking......and I'm sure, as I add to the FAVORITES, I will be bringing in songs, which are not tagged as "Progressive Rock". Would I be wrong or right to bring in keyboard oriented ambient and electronic type music into the PROGRESSIVE SPOTLIGHT??? Looking for opinions and open for discussion

Progressive is it's own definition I think, and it does encompass all instruments and styles...
Rick Wakeman to Deep Purple,is an awefuly big divide, yet both ends are progressive,so I say bring it on Rob.

OK!!! It has been made CLEAR to me, that PROGRESSIVE ROCK will be GENRED by....GENRE!!! YOU, the ARTIST!!!....Must Classify your songs as "Progressive Rock", if it IS "Progressive Rock" to have it fall in this SPOTLIGHT Page. THAT makes it simple enough....hehehehehehehehe!

I would sometimes refer to some keyboard ambient and electronica as progressive for sure Rob. Not all will agree of course but why not?? :)
Thanks for your review...was wondering who it was...:-))

I really think (and it's just my opinion) the ambient/synth/space music has been an extention of the progressive label. In the early days of Tangerene Dream, they were considered very "progressive" and "experimental". I guess the term "ambient" wasn't invented yet lol. And other "progressive" bands, such as Hawkwind and King Crimson were very spacy at times.
