Jim - you mean the big black CDs with the little hole in the center? How special it was to get a new album and read the cover while listening for the first time! Never heard the Killer's version, but I know he never did anything less than full-tilt and larger than life!
Actually, Billy Ward and the Dominos. Billy died in 1956 but the band's other singer, Clyde McPhatter went on to sing the high parts in "The Drifters". He did the falsetto part in the Drifter's version of "White Christmas"
