Verse 1
I carved your name in a maple tree
I made it big so all could see
The love in my soul, and that you belonged to me
I put an arrow thru that heart
This sealed the deal so we’d never part
And you placed a flower for me, at the base of that tree
Verse 2
We counted stars like grains of sand
Your every wish was my command
We shared our dreams, our hopes, and our plans
You wanna teach third grade someday
I’ll write my songs and sing and play
Looking back, we dreamed our Love away
Refrain
For life’s simple goals, may not unfold
To the path we intend to take
And sometimes love it seems, we forsake
And we tried our best with no success
To make our true love stay
Young lovers seem to dream, their love away
Break
Refrain
For life’s simple goals, may not unfold
To the path we intend to take
And we tried our best with no success
To make our true love stay
Young lovers seem to dream, their love away
Verse 3
I carved that heart when I was ten
And you where nine and so divine
And time has past, but the love will always last
And though our paths did not entwine
My heart still fills, when I come to find
A flower for me, at the base of that tree
A flower there for everyone to see
A flower there to show you think of me

This has a super rhythm sequence, I loved what you did there. The mix is excellent. Over it all you have a great lyric with an enjoyable delivery, This entire package has a very early Byrds feel to me. Lovely song well done

Played for alot of years in basement bands doing bars and such. As life changed it's course towards wifes and kids, the guitars got dusty. As fellow members retired from their real jobs we decided to try it again but have some fun this time around. Well we did it for 3 years doing campgrounds and coffee shops and that was enough, tooooo old to haul equipment and not good enough to have a road crew, so I as others, decided to have some fun recording my tunes to the biggest audience anywhere, the internet. I live in Churchville, New York which is west of Rochester, matter of fact just down the road a peice from Razmuth. Thanks to Raz who found me on Sound Click and talked me into trying this site, good move. Many thanks to everyone on this site who have worked hard to create it and maintain it and give me the outlet I need.
