Well they stumble and they fall
Looking through broken eyes
Yeah they try and climb the mountains
To reach the stars where they shine
And they will say it’s all are fault
We were flying way to high
Now the magic is all broken
The lights went out we were blind
Now you’re under my skin
I’m sorry but I’m falling
Why can’t you be my wings
Why can’t you be my wings
Will sit out in the cold
Under the sky’s we are alone
Softly spoken in silence
Buried by the weight of are souls
And I no that its not easy
You left a message in the dirt
I never tried to find it
I’m seeking refuge where it hurts
Now you’re under my skin
I’m sorry but I’m falling
Why can’t you be my wings
Why can’t you be my wings
And I’ll wake up in my head one day, one day
And I’ll see it for what it is
After all
I don’t think that you would understand no way, no way
The words are painted on the walls
So why can’t you see them
Now you’re under my skin
I’m sorry but I’m falling
Why can’t you be my wings
Why can’t you be my wings
Ah ha, the artist who has changed his name - well I loved your earlier stuff to use the cliche and this is excellent - you have a very unique and cleaver style and your arrangements are magical. Brilliant. ftlpope
Joe, I really like the rawness of this. The guitar is perfect and like your vocals with the harmonies making it feel starry and dreamy. The lyrics are very poetic, like the line "Why can't you be my wings" very much. Wishing you well, Melsi
Hi Joe! I think its a great tune, I enjoyed it all the way. really like the Mellotron? too!
Wish I was twenty something again, hold on to that spark which this tune really shows you have.
Oh critical eh? For a twenty one year old singer songwriter I think its a fine piece. Id suggest you just keep playing it by heart as much as you can and eventually it'll really get good. I like it just the way it is inregards to arrangement and style. I had to really listen to understand the words.. but I dont hear so good JMHO
