Woke up this morning with you on my mindRight where I left you when I fell asleep last night
Another day's dawning and I'm here all aloneNothing's the same...
Woke up this morning with you on my mind Right where I left you when I fell asleep last night
Another day's dawning and I'm here all alone Nothing's the same since you've been gone
Aimless hours pass me by as the sun sets once again In the failing light I close my eyes say a last amen
Then another day's dawning and I'm still all alone Nothing's the same since you've been gone
Another day's dawning and I'm here all alone Nothing's the same since you've been gone

Really nice guitar work, I really enjoy the little extras you add into the strumming. The contrast between the happy sound of the guitar and the saddness of the song works really well. A real toe tapping song. Just my opinion, but the ending I found a touch abrupt, I would have enjoyed to hear it go out into infinity, so I could keep up the toe tapping bounce along with the beat type of mood, and I think it would be one that stays in your mind, in a very good way.

John's roots are in gospel music but his influences are truly eclectic. Big band, classical, rock and country have all stimulated him and precipitated his diverse writing style. Even though John has been inspired by many, he does not follow. His songs are a reality sometimes funny or sad, rocking or mellow but always devoid of the commercial, mass-produced tripe so often found today. He has been involved with several gospel and rock bands and was a member of the Midwest duo Common Quest that disbanded in 2006. His work has been recorded on numerous CD's, his most recent release being the solo project, All You Can Eat Buffet - 2 HOUR LIMIT. John and his wife Jan reside in his hometown of Evansville, Indiana and have 5 children and 6 grandchildren. You can read and hear more by visiting John's website.
