Hi !, wanna talk music,sure,lets,
If ,like me, you are a music fan as well as a musician, you understand the complexities of getting your music heard.
Admitted, there are thousands of internet radio stations prepared to play virtually any thing ,and thats cool, but the problem is, you want more exposure, and frankly ,the bottom line is sales,if you dont get people to validate your music by actually digging in their pockets, then, realistically, no one is gonna take you seriously as a musician.
On a personal level, we have had three no1 songs on internet radio, numerous chart placings and 100's of thousands of plays on internet radio, which we are genuinely appreciative of, these people give up their time and energy to promote others music and thats worthy of respect.
However ,none of that has created a fan base for us or generated sales,in truth the first priority should be to make a GREAT sounding, well produced song that FM dj's can feel confident to play to 10's of thousands of listeners without being held up to ridicule.
Payola constantly rears its head in blogs about the FM radio industry, and for sure,it plays a major part in Fm radio stations playlists, however, the majority of these stations do have "New Music" programmes, and whilst extremely difficult to contact and get your stuff played,it is at least a possibility, from there,if the song is good, and SOUNDS good on radio,it will be picked up.
There you have it then, a sea of talented musicians pushing and shoving for a miniscule ammount of airtime, good luck !!! (and dont forget to give my songs a listen right here on Mixposure !).
