HEART TO HEART

You probably didn’t notice, but I was watching you
You strolled into the bar and eased on your favorite stool
You ordered a scotch and soda then you stared into your glass
And I was wondering, baby, why, we didn’t last.
You were wearing your black raincoat
The one you said made you feel like a spy
The one you draped over my chair for months by my bedside.
Chorus: What went wrong with us baby
We were good at the start
Skin to skin, baby, and heart to heart
I kept my head down so our eyes wouldn’t collide
And I traced circles on the table wishing you were by my side
And I remember how your smile would wrap around me
How you’d fold into me
But now you only hold me, baby
In my dreams.

Very moody and expressive piece, the backing to this is magic, provides a very good platform for an sultry vocal. For me the acoustic lead guitar was a very nice touch well done.

Leslie.......a most outstanding song !! I felt you were singing to me, which (IMO) is what every vocalist tries to accomplish. Heartfelt ,deep emotional delivery..with a connection that comes thru with fabulous result.
Thanks, so much,

Lovely Leslie;
What a beautiful song. Much expression in the great vocals; the guitar compliments so well, right placement. Love the lyrics-well done, emotive soulful; good arranging. Nice 2nd acoustic guitar also really fills everything out.
