Back in 2002 a couple of musicians, (Will McCartney & Neil Bernstein), got together to see what they could come up with musically. That fateful night they wrote two great tunes and decided it might be worth a go! Will recruited his brother Ross out of retirement to play Bass for them and Neil recruited his friend and former Drummer Colin Brown from a previous project and "Hunker Down" was born.....
They started their venture together as a heavy acoustic outfit and wrote some cool dark and moody stuff. After gaining a small following of fans, they told by many that their work would translate better electrically rather than acoustically. Will decided to test this theory and laid some electric guitar tracks to a then new tune called "Immortal Realm". The result was BLISTERING!
They took their new tunes and new sound directly to Tim Neuhaus @ Earart Studios in Delta and recorded a 6 song EP called "One", under their new name "THRESHOLD". All was great! New sound, new fans, more gigs!
Then one day this little outfit from England called "Threshold", found them on Myspace and said "Hey guys, great stuff but uh.....you're using our name!!". They also informed them that they were releasing their latest album world wide and theres no room for 2 "Thresholds".......OK fine then!
They stuck with the name "Threshold" for a while longer because they were kinda known that way around town. Eventually they went back to Tim @ Earart to record a new three song demo. Neil decided to do some research for a new name and found a Latin-English Dictionary. He looked up what "Threshold" might be and found "LIMINIS"! That was it, and they got to keep their name in a way!
Now armed with new material....and more coming, "LIMINIS" is on the "threshold" of success with their new single "Failing Gracefully", voted by their friends, families and fans as their best tune to date!
LIMINIS would also like to welcome their newest member James Askin on Rhythm Guitar! He will definatly add to the already great sound they have!.....The future awaits!
***Update*** Aug 21 2017
Will and Ross have retired from the Band. Neil, Colin, Jaymz and our new guitar player Chris have reformed LIMINIS and will be creating new sounds. STAY TUNED.
