"an inner sadness"

Out on the sidewalk ... there's a man who knows the truth

He's watched civilization ... waste away

So he lives in a bottle ... to escape into a state of abuse

Chorus:

He's seen winners coming ... He's seen losers going

and he can laugh at those memories without them knowing

but there's an inner sadness ... just underneath the madness

and no one ever pays attention

Alone in the kitchen ... there's a woman who feels the pain

She's watched all of her children ... go away

So she lives in the T.V. ... to escape her husbands abuse

Chorus:2

She's seen chances coming ... She sees chances going

and she can cry herself to sleep without him knowing

but there's an inner sadness ... just underneath the madness

and no one ever pays attention

There in the classroom ... there's a boy who understands it all

He's watched all those around him ... look away

So he lives in a daydream ... to escape the worlds abuse

He sees children playing ... in a world of growing

and he can think anything he wants without them knowing

but there's an inner sadness ... just underneath the madness

and no one ever pays attention

between 2000 and 2005 I recorded 8 Home-Demo Albums on a Tascam portastudio2 4-track cassette recorder using oldschool splicing techniques to sing and play on each track through a single input. In 2005 I stopped playing music for personal reasons and did not pick it back up until 2009 when I slowly began writing again. Up until that time I'd never used a computer, and the Idea of my songs ever being heard by anyone outside my family and small circle of friends was a distant pipe dream. But I poured my heart and soul into that little 4-track during those 5 years and didnt record again until a few months ago when I plugged a small microphone into my laptop and recorded the dry Acoustic/Vocal songs for my 10th album "Reflections" as you can hear on my first upload "Who's behind your eyes". So I have near 100 songs that have never seen the inside of a legit recording studio. So all I have is the old recordings that I did myself sitting on my bedroom floor with wires everywhere and equipment that would make a producer cry. "an inner sadness" is from my 4th demo "The Circle" and if you can get past the quality ... I think it's some of my best songwriting and I hope you can enjoy it.
