CSP - July 19, 2008 Saturday Night Rocks with TCP Re-Broadcast

<p><span style="font-size: medium; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; color: #00ccff;">"Interactive Radio" in action again - only on MIX Radio via Mixposure.com, the home and "future of Independent Music"! Another great Mix Radio Center Stage Presentation is in the books, this time with our special guest TCP, a Progressive Rock project that will blow away many mainstream artists&nbsp; with their awesome music! Listen to more of TCP's music <a href="http://www.mixposure.com/TCP/">HERE</a>.<br /><br />Just a little factoid for those of you who are not familiar with Internet Radio when it comes to Independent Artists: <br /><br />There are a huge number of "Indie Stations" on the Internet. I have done some extensive research over the past 4 years and I can tell you that most of those stations will have about 15 listeners MAX during one of their primetime shows. Well, I am happy to report that we hit a whopping <strong>32 Listeners</strong> on this last show here on Mix Radio! This might not seem big to you as you are reading this, but it is!!! Also, it should tell you that there is work to be done! We need many more listeners to realize how great Independent Artists really are!!! YOU can help by spreading the word! Just contact everyone you know who loves good music and have them do the same with everyone they know and simply poin them to Mix Radio on Mixposure.com - it's music that deserves to be heard by MANY more people!!!<br /><br /> It's a pleasure, featuring all of these great artists from all over the world. Not just during the Center Stage Presentation, but in general. What an abundance of talent! Who would need mainstream radio? I sure do not! Independent Artists are far more original and entertaining (yes, you may quote me on that!).<br /><br />If you missed this last show, you <em>SHOULD</em> listen to it via the following links:<br /><br /><a href="http://www.guitaristworks.com/iMSRadio/071908SNRwithTCP.mp3">July 19, 2008 SNR - featuring TCP - Hi-Fi</a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.guitaristworks.com/iMSRadio/071908SNRwithTCP-LO.mp3">July 19, 2008 SNR - featuring TCP - Lo-Fi</a><br /><br />The complete playlist of this past Saturday's show is <a href="http://www.guitaristworks.com/iMSRadio/071908SNRPlayList.htm">HERE</a>.<br /><br />For all other re-broadcast links, please visit the <a href="http://www.mixposure.com/MixRadio/blog.php">Mix Radio Blogs Page</a><br /><br />We hope to see you again next Saturday for another exciting Mix Radio Center Stage Presentation on Mix Radio via Mixposure.com<br /><br />Cheers,<br /><br /><a href="http://www.mixposure.com/Mike_Kohlgraf/">Mike</a></span></p>

Not to mention we also try and play music from people attending the show. Keep in mind also that the Radio Station runs 24x7 and plays close to every song on Mixposure.

Soundtrapper - It always helps if you make your songs available for download up upload them to Mike's ftp :). If you do not have your songs available for download, he can't get them.

For a couple who don't get away much, my wife and I sure choose some bad weekends to do so. Sorry, Blake, we were out of town attending a friend's art exhibition opening and I missed the live version of the show.

Being a huge fan of your talent (and those you collaborate with), though, I will not miss the show and am presently downloading it to play when I get home from work.

I'm really looking forward to hearing what you've got to say about your music and to listen to quality "prog rock".

Mike, you know I love your shows and wouldn't miss them unless something very important came up. Do you realise I've only played one game of soccer in the last 6 or so weeks that you've been running the show.

Really knocked out by the stats you put up. That's a huge crowd and testimony not only to the quality of the shows you present, but also to the affection which I know a lot of people here have for Blake and TCP.

Congrats to all involved. Can't wait to hear the show.

Cheers

Brian

Hola Mike...and everyone. Great time last night. Thanks much for all the support given to Jack, Henry and myself. I was floored at all the awesome comments flying around in the chat room, AND I must say for anyone who will be involved in a CSP in the future. Mike K is one awesome host (and an awesome guy otherwise). Thank you so much again!! ~Blake

Thanks, everyone!!! TCP did a fantastic job!

As far as playlists: I wouldn't worry about it too much. You're looking at just ONE show. I've played MANY artists in previous shows where people who actually attended the live event had to ask "Who is this? This is great!"... I claim to play some of the best variety of artists in many genres during my shows. It would be ill advised to judge my shows based on just ONE single playlist. Besides, there are only so many artists you can play in a single show.

Hope, this makes sense. I am not about to change what I am doing. There WILL ultimately be multiple plays from one particular artists due to requests by the people in the chat during the show. Hard to tell 30 people "no, I already played a song by that artist".... after all, we're "Interactive Radio".

Cheers,
Mike

I didn't state my opinion about the playlist in reference to my material being played or not.
I don't see how my post could be generating this kind of response.
I really don't care if my material is on the radio (althogh Mike has played it in the past and I did think that was cool) that is not why I posted about the playlist.
I know about the download issue and do appreciate that you couldn't know this but it indicates by pointing it out that you are reading into my post that I'm concerned about my material being "aired".
I would think that playing as many of the artist here would be better programming in representing this site. With a limited amount of time for the program it would seem to me playing as many different artist and genre's would be paramount.
Maybe this would have been a better post should it have been a question:
Why are some artist's having numerous plays while leaving others out of a program that has limited time? It's not like there is a shortage of good material here.

I stated my opinion for Mike-K to consider as I believe it would help him create a better program. No other intention. I personally am very disappointed that "reading between the lines" and assumptions have been the result.

I'm done with this. I can only hope now that it is read and understood as I intended.

Michael

There are many very good artist here and I can't agree with any playlist that repeats an artist while leaving others out.
No offense intended to any artist played or the playlist originator.
Just an opinion.
