<p>Shaniqua Pugh aka Mona L was born in New York City; raised in the housing projects of Harlem. At 22 years old, Mona L knows music is what gave her life. She has written and co-written about 30 songs with a group that she was once a part of at the start of her music career. Her Group became well known in the Tristate area for the Harlem remix to a very popular song "Teach Me How to Dougie". They also had a collaboration with hip hop artist Juelz Santana, with another radio smash hit titled "Dummy" with record spins on New York’s number one radio stations Hot97 and Power 105.1 , which has landed her music on numerous mix tapes and is in heavy demand amongst various clubs and radio stations not only in NYC but also in the Carolinas, ATL and Virginia. Summer of 2010' Mona L had the honor of performing in the African American Day parade alongside hip hop pioneer Doug E. Fresh, sponsored By BMW of Tenafly. She also performed live at New York’s hottest night life venues, Suzie Wongs and Crash Mansion. Mona L’s musical tattoos are shown in a six page spread in Urban Ink Magazine alongside G-unit’s artist Lloyd Banks. Mona L has been blessed with many opportunities and she realizes that this is only the beginning. Not to mention Mona L's star quality, her delivery on stage and in the studio is impeccable.
